Listen to this chapter:

Arianna, calmer than her father, sat calmly at her desk, surrounded by documents. The company had recently faced numerous problems, and despite the crisis, she, rather than the higher-ups, bore the responsibility. Most of the higher-ups were only interested in the company's dividends and held little interest in daily management. Derrick and Benedict had handled things in the past, but now Arianna held absolute authority.

Joseph observed Arianna's composed demeanor and carefully applied makeup; her aura seemed transformed. He sensed a change in his daughter but couldn't define it, leaving him uneasy.

"Ari, explain yourself! What the hell is going on? Why is Damian still involved?!" he demanded angrily.

Arianna glanced at him, then, without speaking, reviewed a document, signed it, and set it aside. Finally, she said calmly, "Dad, are you here simply to question me?"

Joseph was taken aback by her tone.

"Isn't it obvious who's responsible? I proposed and established the new project department. I wanted professionals, but you gave the project to Damian. He insisted, ignored advice, and things spiraled out of control. Why are you questioning me now?"

Arianna, shedding her composure, pointed out Damian's failings, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Ari, youโ€ฆ"

"What? Am I not telling the truth? Who doesn't know Damian is an idiot? He knows nothing but criticizes. He wants control but understands nothing. He was born privilegedโ€”"

"You gave him everything because he's your son, even if it destroys the Tanner family!" She stood, her voice rising, her demeanor threatening. Joseph recoiled. "What are you doing? Arianna, this is the office!"

"Ha, you remember this is the office, now?" Arianna circled the desk, approaching him. "Dad, you repeatedly barged in to help your son. You want a scapegoatโ€”even me. Damian repeatedly barged in too, but when did he consider company rules? Since you mention the office, let's follow its rules and procedures. Mr. Tanner, I have work to do. Please leave."

Joseph was stunned by her detachment. He stood there, trembling, feeling betrayed, especially by his daughter. Just days ago, she'd vowed to help Damian; her change of heart was breathtakingly swift.
