Chapter 782

Upon saying this, he caught a glimpse of Arianna's face and stopped. "Does he think victory is within his grasp?"

"Enough about him. Look at yourself. Do you think your victory is within grasp?" Arianna immediately redirected the conversation.

"Don't say I didn't warn you. Keep an eye on the media and the paparazzi. Make sure they don't make a fool of you at the last second. Also, cover your tracks, or you might get caught."

Nathaniel frowned. "There's nothing to worry about." After finishing his fruit, he clapped his hands and put down his fork.

"That idiot is so full of himself; he promoted a few new interns. Damian is trying to create a cliqueโ€”it's ridiculous and naive."

"It's unusual for him to even have this idea. He knows he'll never win over the older employees. His only option is to cultivate a loyal group of new hires," Arianna replied, thoughtfully flipping through her documents.

Damian wasn't stupid, just immature. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and used to following his elders in overseas business dealings, he remained detached from reality. Arianna considered his methods inadequate. A prime example was the perfume production. If Damian had allowed Nathaniel to help, it would have been difficult to clear Nathaniel's name if anything went wrong. However, Damian's arrogance prevented Nathaniel's participation. He was determined to prove his capability and take all the credit, seemingly oblivious to the risks. Success would bring him all the praise; failure, all the blame. He didn't grasp this; Arianna didn't bother explaining it.

"I'll be checking out the 'catch' tomorrow!" Nathaniel joked, standing up.

Just as he was about to speak again, there was a knock on the door.

"Ms. Tanner," Arianna's secretary called.

Arianna glanced at Nathaniel. "Come in."

Her secretary entered, lowered her head slightly upon seeing Nathaniel, and quickly approached Arianna with some documents. "This is Mr. Tanner's reimbursement request. Finance sent it for your review."

Arianna hummed, opened the report, and examined it carefully. A sneer crept onto her face. "He certainly didn't hold back on expenses, did he?"

"Finance agreed and sent it to you for your opinion."

"Me? What opinion can I have? Does my father know about this?" Arianna asked.

"I assume so, but" After a moment's hesitation, the secretary decided against further explanation. Discussing such matters with their employers was difficult. Besides, Finance had already reviewed the reimbursement.

Arianna toyed with the papers, pondering before saying, "Leave it with me. I think young Mr. Tanner will splurge again tonight. We'll reimburse him all at once. We'll discuss this tomorrow."

"All right," the secretary replied and left.
