Chapter 678

"I'm asking you, did you do it?" Lily demanded, lifting Henry by his collar and pulling him off the ground. She glared fiercely at him.

Justin watched, stunned by her strength. Before he could speak, his phone rang. He'd dropped it in the courtyard during the scuffle. Finding itโ€”the screen cracked but still functionalโ€”he answered, "Hello?"

Distracted by the call, he glanced at Lily. Henry, almost breathless, sputtered, "I didn't expect my long-laid plan to fail because of you! If I'd knownโ€”" He coughed violently, interrupting himself.

Justin ended the call. He quickly approached Lily, saying, "It was the police. Forensics has conclusive results." Lily stared at him, speechless.

Understanding her shock, Justin continued, "Grandpa died of illness. A natural death, not murder."

This stunned both Lily and Henry.

"Natural death? Natural? Hahaha" Henry laughed, then collapsed.

Lily, reeling from the astonishment, unconsciously released her grip as Henry fell. She murmured, "Thisโ€ฆ how is this possibleโ€ฆ howโ€ฆ"

"I'm surprised too, but it's true. We can get the report anytime. Youโ€ฆ" Justin hadn't anticipated this outcome either. He'd suspected Lily of poisoning Wilfred. They'd all suspected foul play, waiting for the report. But it wasn't murder at all! Wilfred hadn't been poisoned. There was no murderer. It was all a farce! A joke!

"Hahahaโ€ฆ natural deathโ€ฆ hahahaโ€ฆ" Henry lay on the ground, head raised, laughing and weeping.

Lily, shaken from her stupor by his laughter, looked down at him. "That means it wasn't him?" she asked suspiciously.

"No," Justin shook his head. "Regardless, this has gone on long enough. We need to arrange Grandpa's burial."

Lily remained silent, struggling to process the events. Had Grandpa simply been ill? That seriously?

"Somebody!" Justin called to his subordinates. "Lock him up. No one lets him out without my permission!"

Whether or not Henry poisoned his grandfather, his conspiracy with outsiders to disrupt the Lodge family was undeniable. Justin also needed to determine Henry's contacts within the Riggs family.
