Chapter 672

It was clear he'd put in a lot of effort. It would have taken less time if it had been as easy as he claimed.

Lily slowly looked out the window. "Reporting this to the police will definitely affect the Lodge family's reputation," she said.

"There's nothing more important than Grandpa," he replied, enunciating each word.

Public exposure would significantly impact the Lodge family, but they agreed on their course of action.

Justin, taciturn and not given to many words, could only manage a few before silence fell again.

The drive back to the Lodge residence was short. The house was shrouded in darkness, gloomy after the recent turmoil.

"Something's not right!" Lily immediately sensed something amiss.

Raising her eyebrows, she focused, her heightened awareness picking up an unsettling atmosphere. The Lodge house was usually quiet, the disciples scattered, but something felt profoundly wrong the moment she stepped from the car. Her martial arts training sharpened her instincts.

An oppressive sense of dread hung in the air, as if enemies lurked everywhere. Both she and Justin felt it.

Justin frowned, glancing casually in one direction. A sudden gust of wind preceded an attack from behind.

Two separate assaults followed. Justin and Lily were each attacked from behind by swift, aggressive assailants.

To Justin and Lily, the attacks seemed slow. They dodged and countered instantly. Justin spun, moving to his attacker's back, striking with one hand while blocking the other, then seizing his throat. "Who are you?!" he demanded.

The attacker doubled over, speechless. Without a word, Justin and Lily simultaneously knocked out their opponents.

The oppressive atmosphere remained, even intensifying.

"Clap! Clap! Clap!" Applause echoed.

Henry emerged from the house, having returned before them, bringing a storm with him.

"My nephew and niece possess impressive skills," he smirked, positioning himself in the middle of the courtyard. Adopting the demeanor of the family patriarch, he continued, "Do you think calling the police will change anything? I wanted a peaceful resolution, but your stubbornness leaves me no choice. You can't blame your uncle for being cruelit's your own fault!"

Leaning forward, he smirked again.

"Are you finally revealing your true colors? Was Grandfather's death related to you?" Justin asked coldly. He lacked evidence linking Henry to Wilfred's death; the timing was impossible. Henry hadn't returned yet when Wilfred died. The coincidence seemed implausible, but Justin desperately hoped his grandfather's death wasn't his uncle's doing. Wilfred's sorrow at such a betrayal would be immeasurable.

Henry let out a cold laugh. "Hahaha. Why question this now? Worry about yourselves. I'm reclaiming everything the Lodge family owes me today!" His expression turned ferocious.
