Chapter 641

"You're overthinking it," Jonathan said calmly as Henry approached. "What would I gain by betraying you? Besides, didn't we agree on this beforehand? I know you're losing patience, but it's been years. What are a few more days? I'm old, with no children. Sooner or later, this will all be yours."

Henry stood before Jonathan, staring coldly. "It's good you understand. Uncle, you can't fault me for this. That old man cast me aside, but my people are capable. The Lodge family has always been discreet. I hope it doesn't come to harming my own family."

Jonathan was stunned. He sighed. "What are you talking about? We're family. What do you mean?"

After a pause, Jonathan continued, "Back to the matter at hand, three days will pass quickly. We must produce concrete evidence to convince the public. The elders may care less, but they still have reputations to uphold."

"Since you mentioned it to her, I'll leave that to you," Henry retorted with a snort, having no means to help. "Being patriarch isn't easy, is it?"

Henry turned and left. Jonathan's gaze darkened as he watched him go.

Henry quickly descended and entered his car; he had another appointment. He couldn't tell Jonathan about this. After years abroad, he knew the value of keeping a trump card. Besides, he still couldn't decipher Jonathan's intentions.

He drove through the wilderness to a development area in Sapphine, a Lodge family property still under construction. Its potential value was immeasurable.

Henry felt justified in his ruthlessness. Hadn't Wilfred been more ruthless, discarding Henry and driving him from the family? Now, Henry was simply reclaiming what was his.

He had no intention of harming Justin and Lily, as long as they remained obedient. His car continued until it stopped at a large, empty fieldโ€”a half-constructed, abandoned theme park.

A contractor had envisioned a large amusement park here, but ran out of funds, leaving the project unfinished. This land lay undeveloped. Once development rights were secured, a new structure would rise.

For now, it served as a discreet meeting place. Its exposed location meant anyone hiding there would be easily spotted.

In the distance, Henry saw a white car. He braked, keeping his engine running and shifting into park. He lit a cigarette and took a few drags.

Minutes later, a man in a suit and leather shoes emerged from the white car and approached. Henry narrowed his eyes, took a deep breath, and rolled down his window. "Mr. Lodge."
