Chapter 611

"Since you're here, let's go out and relax," Arianna said, gently shaking Eloise's arm. "Besides, we're almost there."

Eloise, having heard this, no longer refused. Soon, the car pulled up to a detached bungalow. She looked at it quizzically. "Didn't you say we were going out to relax? Where is this?"

"This is my house," Arianna smiled, opening the car door and then turning to help Eloise out.

Eloise, suspiciously, peered around before exiting. "Your house? When did you buy it, and why didn't I know? Does your father know?"

"Mom, I don't have to tell Dad everything. Did he tell you he cheated on you with another woman and had a child with her?"

This rhetorical question instantly angered Eloise, though she masked her displeasure.

"Alright, I said the wrong thing. Please don't be mad. Trust me, you'll be happy here." She smiled mysteriously and led Eloise into the house.

"What are you trying to do?" Eloise asked seriously, stopping at the doorway. Arianna claimed the house was hers, but Eloise had no knowledge of its purchase. Were there other secrets? What else didn't she know?

"Mom, don't worry!" Arianna pushed open the door, then called out, "We're home!"

"Home?" Eloise frowned, her eyes widening a second later.

Someone she hadn't expected stood before her—someone she'd long searched for in vain.

"N-Nathaniel?!" she stammered, disbelieving her eyes. Her son! Why was he here?

Since the troubles with his company, Nathaniel had called once, after which she'd been unable to contact him. Fearing alarming others, she'd searched quietly, but for so long, she'd worried about him, fearing something terrible had happened… The absence of even bad news had been agonizing.

She looked at Nathaniel, then at Arianna, utterly shocked. She never imagined the two would be together, or that Arianna knew about her son. "Ari, y-you… guys?"

"Mom, I already knew I had a brother," Arianna said with a smile, taking Nathaniel's arm. "I know you've had difficulties. That's why you didn't tell me, so I pretended not to know. Maybe this would prevent Dad from becoming suspicious. Well, now our family is finally reunited!"

She linked arms with Nathaniel and Eloise, smiling sweetly.

Eloise remained incredulous. She looked at her children, remembering her long-held hope of one day bringing them together. She never expected it to happen like this.

This surprise, arriving at her lowest point, left her uncertain about the future's joys or sorrows. "Ari, how did you find Nate?"
