Chapter 601
Staring at the arm holding her hand, a cold, sharp gaze flashed in Lily's eyes. She wasn't angry when Noah lied and tried to confine her, but his condescending tone and touch ignited her fury.
Lily smirked coldly. "Since you bought those water hyssop and chose to waste them, what does that have to do with me? By the way..."
Before Noah could react, Lily twisted his arm. Heโd grabbed her wrist, but now she held him, twisting his arm until his chest hit the floor. He yelped in pain.
"Mr. Richards..." His bodyguards hesitated, intimidated by Lily's expression. She appeared frail and gentle, yet her eyes held a terrifying power, sharp as icicles. Turning Noah effortlessly, twisting his arm, and pinning him, she was a force to be reckoned with. Everyone watched, tense, anticipating a move.
Aware of the situation's gravity, Lily ensured she didn't injure him. She only wanted to teach him a lesson, not antagonize the Richards family or others in Kingsland. Injuring him would likely prevent her escape.
"Mr. Richards, it's best you don't lay a finger on a lady!" She released him, pushing him forward.
Noah almost fell, unprepared for the abrupt shove. His bodyguards scrambled to steady him. As Noah recovered, his guards prepared to attack, but he yelled, "Stop!"
Noah held his shoulder, assessing the damage. He was relieved his shoulder wasn't dislocated; the pain was intense while Lily held him, but it subsided once released. He regarded her with a complex expression, realizing she hadn't truly hurt him.
"I've heard the Lodge family are skilled in kickboxing. I never expected such skill from a young, fragile woman. Thank you for this demonstration." Noah nodded. "Ms. Christian, since you refuse to cooperate, forcing you is pointless. If you wish to leave, I won't stop you."
His bodyguards were astonished. "Mr. Richards?" They'd gone to great lengths to bring her here. Why the sudden change of heart after just a few days?
Noah frowned, waving them silent to clear a path for Lily. Watching them step aside, she glanced at him strangely. Had he truly changed his mind?
Though Noah remained resolute in his decision, he'd had the opportunity to learn more about Lily in the past few hours. He was astonished by her perfume-making skills, far surpassing his own. He hated to admit it, but she would have outmatched him in competition.
He finally understood Wesley Parker's invitation to Westwood. He knew his bodyguards couldn't detain her. Even if her kickboxing wasn't as refined as other Lodges, she was still a Lodge, and antagonizing the family would be unwise.
