Chapter 549

Brittany was surprised when she met the perfumer. First, she expected a man, but the perfumer was a woman. Second, the woman looked much younger than the fifty years indicated in her profile; she appeared to be in her thirties. If the profile was accurate, the woman had an exceptional skincare routine.

"Hi, Ms. Walters," Brittany greeted her politely.

The woman smiled. "I'm Angeline Walters. Please, call me Angeline."

"Hi, Angeline. What would you like to discuss?" Brittany asked, sitting down.

"Anything is fine," Angeline replied, studying Brittany intently. It felt like a head-to-toe appraisal.

Brittany felt awkward and instinctively touched the hem of her blouse.

"Relax," Angeline said, noticing Brittany's discomfort. "I'm assessing your personality and appearance to create a suitable scent."

Brittany relaxed. "What perfume would suit me best?" she asked, admitting her limited perfume knowledge. She'd only worn high-fashion brands; their pleasant scents were enough for her. She'd never considered whether a perfume truly suited her. It hadn't mattered until the incident with Alexander.

"Let's take it slow," Angeline said casually. Her hair was loosely bunned, and she had an alluring, successful businesswoman's lookโ€”a strong jawline and striking eyes that made her appear more energetic than most.

Brittany detected a faint scent. A deep breath intensified it, only for it to quickly fade. The fleeting fragrance was alluringly elusive.

"Your perfume smells wonderful!" Brittany blurted out, immediately apologizing.

Angeline sniffed and shifted, her movement releasing a stronger wave of fragrance. Brittany found herself inexplicably drawn to the scent.

"Angeline, may I ask what perfume you're wearing? It's unlike anything I've ever smelled!" Brittany exclaimed, her praise overflowing. It was far superior to Lily's perfume, more captivating.

"It's something simple I made," Angeline said nonchalantly.

"Simple?" Brittany's eyes widened, impressed by Angeline's confident understatement. She was convinced Angeline could create a phenomenal custom perfume for her. "Could I have some of this perfume?" she asked tentatively, captivated by its allure. She imagined wearing it around Alexander.

Angeline's expression changed. "This isn't for sale," she stated firmly.

"Why?" Brittany asked.

"If perfume were that simple, you wouldn't need me, would you? You could just buy it at the mall," Angeline retorted, her impatience evident.
