Chapter 537

"About that" Justin's sudden question caught Lily off guard. She hesitated. "We haven't set a date yet."

She'd been busy lately, leaving no time for wedding planning. Besides, she and Alexander were already married; the ceremony was merely for appearances.

"It's okay to be cautious," Justin said, nodding thoughtfully. After a pause, he asked, "Were you kidnapped in Westwood?"

"What?" The incident was distant, almost forgotten until Justin's unexpected question. The fact he knew meant there was evidence, so she nodded. "Yes, but it's in the past."

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"I could handle it myself." Even if she'd told her family, they couldn't have helped in time. The kidnappers were just common thugs. Justin nodded slightly. "Now you understand why Grandpa insists you practice kickboxing, right?"

Lily frowned. The connection seemed tenuous. "You mean Grandpa knew I'd be kidnapped in Westwood years ago?"

What a load of crp!* she thought.

Justin shook his head. "No, I didn't mean that. As a Lodge family member, you'll face challenges. You've been safe because outsiders didn't know your affiliation. When your identity is revealed"

"Then what?"

"Either way, you must be careful and not neglect your training." He seemed reluctant to discuss it further.

Practicing kickboxing was necessary, but did his words imply that not training was dangerous for a Lodge family member?

Justin answered his phone, ending their conversation. Lily watched him drive away, hoping her scented candle would help her grandfather.

After seeing Justin off, Lily rushed to the Skyland Fashion Show. Lisa had invited her to her runway debut that evening. Lily had almost refused, but today's success with Lisa's perfume changed her mind; she couldn't wait to share it.

It was an international show with top supermodels. Lisa, while not the most prominent, was confident and dazzling under the lights.

"Lily!" Lisa spotted her backstage and rushed over, exclaiming, "I'm so glad you came!"

"Something to make you even happier!" Lily hugged Lisa. "I brought what you wanted."

"Really?!" Lisa gasped. "Where is it? Let me try it now!"

Lily smiled. "Let's find a less crowded place. It's too busy here."

Lisa nodded eagerly. "I agree. Wait for me!"
