Chapter 497
Lily chuckled at Lisa's behavior. She knew that, regardless of Lisa's age, she was still just a child in her father's eyes. Mr. Parker would never create a sensual and passionate fragrance for his own daughter; that would encourage her to seduce others.
Even though Lisa was an adult, she remained slightly rebellious and wanted to prove she'd grown up. She no longer wanted to be treated like a child.
"I understand," Lily said after a pause. "It's not impossible, but it's just not convenient for me right now."
"Huh?" Lisa was disappointed. "What do you mean? I wanted to use it for the show!"
Shaking her head, Lily firmly declined. "I really don't have the time. I have two urgent jobs. I can't help you now. If you can wait, I'll try to help afterward. If it's too late, you should find someone else," Lily said honestly. She was swamped with work.
"No, no. I don't want anyone else. I want you! I believe in you, and you're the only one who understands me!" Lisa considered this, then continued, "It's too late now, but I still want you to concoct a special fragrance, exclusive to me. My price will be very fair! Just help me after you finish your other jobs!"
"Okay!" Lily agreed; Lisa had already made her decision.
As they chatted, their food arrived. Lily, lacking her usual appetite, ordered sparingly. Lisa, however, showed little interest in anything except her salad. Lily recalled Lisa's varied diet in Westwood. Why the sudden change?
"I remember you used to eat cakes and steaks," Lily said curiously. After taking a sip of lemonade, Lisa replied, "That was before I started working. I could indulge then. But now, I have to follow a strict diet. Don't even mention it! Do you know how many workouts I have to do to burn off the calories from cakes and steaks? It's a sin!"
From Lily's perspective, it was a sin not to enjoy delicious food! But Lisa needed discipline to maintain her best physical condition for the catwalk.
Lily looked at her. The once carefree and introverted girl had grown up. Time had moved on for them both.
"By the way, do you remember Helen?" Lisa asked, nearly finished with her salad. She wiped her mouth and stopped eating. "Yes, I remember," Lily replied confidently.
"She finally gave up," Lisa said emotionally. They had been friends, and Lisa hadn't expected this from Helen.
"Huh?" Lily was confused.
"She gave up on using her child to get back with Mike," Lisa explained. "She never gave up before. I thought she wanted to be with him forever. I didn't expect her to let go."
"Maybe she understood the situation," Lily replied casually. After all that time, Helen was probably tired.
Lisa pouted and shook her head. โThat's not it! I've known her a long time. If she understood, she wouldn't have been so obsessive. I used to pity her and her child, thinking she missed him, so I tried to help them reconcile. After that incident with you, it turns out she didn't care about Nick; she just wanted to use him!"
"Alright, so why did she give up?" Lily asked.
