Chapter 365

Looking at the person, Lily answered thoughtfully, "It doesn't matter much who the author is. This test is about analyzing the composition and merits and demerits of the work, not its creator."

"Then, if you remove the labels and focus on the creations themselves, would your answer be the same?" she asked rhetorically.

The question piqued everyone's interest, prompting careful consideration. Without labels, the answer would likely still differ. As they answered, they wondered if this was truly Mr. Parker's work or one of their own creations.

After investing so much time and energy, no one believed that considering authorship detracted from the competition's core. Her words had convinced most.

However, some remained dissatisfied.

"Excuse me, Ms. Christian. Your insights were excellent, but you're so young. Are you truly that talented and intelligent, or have you encountered similar situations before?"

His question was laced with malice. While seemingly innocuous, it implied she relied on connectionsโ€”that she knew the questions beforehand.

Looking at him intently, Lily replied, "That's presumptuous and rather ignorant. Knowledge and age are not directly correlated. Some young people are knowledgeable and wise; some older people are shallow. Of course, I'm not referring to you. I'm simply saying a person's understanding has little to do with age. And, if you're here, you shouldn't be the latter."

She delivered her response calmly, neither humble nor arrogant. It subtly mocked his limited understanding, yet spared him undue embarrassment.

His face flushed crimson, rendering him speechless. Further debate would only highlight his ignorance, and he wasn't challenging her, but Mr. Parker and the entire competition.

"This competition was a resounding success, showcasing the abundance of talent in our fragrance industry. I believe everyone here will create their own success! I anticipate even more exceptional work in the future! I'm pleased to announce the competition's conclusion. I will contact the winners regarding prizes and trophies."

The invigilator's announcement marked the competition's end. Lily breathed a sigh of relief, vowing never to participate in such an event again. Research and development were peaceful; socializing was a headache.

"Ms. Christian!"

Before she could leave, someone stopped her. "Mr. Parker wishes to see you. Please come with me."

Lily was unsure of his intentions, but they were still within the competition venue. Following the kidnapping, security was significantly enhanced, unlike last time.

Entering Mr. Parker's office, she found him sitting behind his desk. He gestured for her to sit. "Ms. Christian, you truly impressed me."

Mr. Parker leaned forward slightly. His tone, though not effusive, was affirmative.
