Chapter 307

Melanie was the most disappointed by this turn of events. She had been waiting to see Lily get into trouble, but Lisa’s unexpected arrival disrupted everything. “How annoying!” Melanie gritted her teeth, resenting Lisa’s joyful smile. To Melanie, Lisa had ruined her plans and the promising outcome she’d anticipated.

“Wait! Why do I feel like I’ve seen her before? She looks familiar. Earlier, she said she met Lily in Hyderland, but I’ve known Lily since university. I’ve met most of her friends, and there weren’t many. Why does Lisa seem so familiar?” Melanie continued staring at Lisa’s face, and a memory fragment flickered in her mind. “That’s her?”

On the other side of the hall, after the crowd dispersed, Lisa was still talking to Lily.

“Lilsy, I sent you my new number after returning to Westwood. Why didn’t you contact me? I thought you didn’t want to be friends anymore.”

“You sent it? I didn’t receive it.” Lily was surprised. She remembered Lisa, an old friend. Lisa had been an exchange student at their university, but no one knew her true identity—the daughter of internationally renowned perfumer Wesley Parker. Everyone had simply assumed she was another exchange student. Lisa hadn’t been as cheerful then; her personality had been similar to Lily’s, as she also had few friends.

Lily couldn’t recall how they’d become friends, but she remembered making a scented sachet for Lisa before Lisa returned to Westwood. Their classmates often experimented with fragrances, creating perfumes and essential oils. For Lisa, receiving a sachet filled with various dried flowers and different fragrances had been unusual. Lily had even customized it based on Lisa’s preferences. She hadn’t expected Lisa to cherish it so much, keeping it constantly at her side.

“Huh? You didn’t receive it? I sent it three times because I was worried that would happen.”

Lisa initially pouted in disappointment, but quickly returned to her cheerful demeanor. “It’s okay, though. Look! Even if you didn’t receive it, we’re back in touch! It has to be fate, right?”

“You’re right. That’s exactly it.” Lily laughed. Reuniting with an old friend in a foreign country was wonderful.

“Oh, right, are you here for the perfumery competition too?” Lisa asked, taking a bite of her cake. Lily raised her eyebrows and chuckled.

“Didn’t you say I was here to visit you?”

Lisa chuckled. Waving her hand, she explained, “I said that deliberately. I needed to ease the tension. Otherwise, there would have been a fight between you and my dad, right?”

Lily was speechless. ‘She knows everything, but she’s pretending not to, to ease the tension. What a brilliant girl!’

Although years had passed since their last meeting, they instantly reconnected. Laughing, Lily nodded.

“If I were to fight with your dad, what would you do?”

“That won’t happen,” Lisa said indifferently, taking another bite of cake and shaking her head. “There are a lot of guards here, and my dad has many bodyguards. You’d be on the ground before you could even touch him.”

Lily was at a loss for words.
