Chapter 307

Melanie was the most disappointed by this turn of events. She had been waiting to see Lily get into trouble, but Lisaโ€™s unexpected arrival disrupted everything. โ€œHow annoying!โ€ Melanie gritted her teeth, resenting Lisaโ€™s joyful smile. To Melanie, Lisa had ruined her plans and the promising outcome sheโ€™d anticipated.

โ€œWait! Why do I feel like Iโ€™ve seen her before? She looks familiar. Earlier, she said she met Lily in Hyderland, but Iโ€™ve known Lily since university. Iโ€™ve met most of her friends, and there werenโ€™t many. Why does Lisa seem so familiar?โ€ Melanie continued staring at Lisaโ€™s face, and a memory fragment flickered in her mind. โ€œThatโ€™s her?โ€

On the other side of the hall, after the crowd dispersed, Lisa was still talking to Lily.

โ€œLilsy, I sent you my new number after returning to Westwood. Why didnโ€™t you contact me? I thought you didnโ€™t want to be friends anymore.โ€

โ€œYou sent it? I didnโ€™t receive it.โ€ Lily was surprised. She remembered Lisa, an old friend. Lisa had been an exchange student at their university, but no one knew her true identityโ€”the daughter of internationally renowned perfumer Wesley Parker. Everyone had simply assumed she was another exchange student. Lisa hadnโ€™t been as cheerful then; her personality had been similar to Lilyโ€™s, as she also had few friends.

Lily couldnโ€™t recall how theyโ€™d become friends, but she remembered making a scented sachet for Lisa before Lisa returned to Westwood. Their classmates often experimented with fragrances, creating perfumes and essential oils. For Lisa, receiving a sachet filled with various dried flowers and different fragrances had been unusual. Lily had even customized it based on Lisaโ€™s preferences. She hadnโ€™t expected Lisa to cherish it so much, keeping it constantly at her side.

โ€œHuh? You didnโ€™t receive it? I sent it three times because I was worried that would happen.โ€

Lisa initially pouted in disappointment, but quickly returned to her cheerful demeanor. โ€œItโ€™s okay, though. Look! Even if you didnโ€™t receive it, weโ€™re back in touch! It has to be fate, right?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re right. Thatโ€™s exactly it.โ€ Lily laughed. Reuniting with an old friend in a foreign country was wonderful.

โ€œOh, right, are you here for the perfumery competition too?โ€ Lisa asked, taking a bite of her cake. Lily raised her eyebrows and chuckled.

โ€œDidnโ€™t you say I was here to visit you?โ€

Lisa chuckled. Waving her hand, she explained, โ€œI said that deliberately. I needed to ease the tension. Otherwise, there would have been a fight between you and my dad, right?โ€

Lily was speechless. โ€˜She knows everything, but sheโ€™s pretending not to, to ease the tension. What a brilliant girl!โ€™

Although years had passed since their last meeting, they instantly reconnected. Laughing, Lily nodded.

โ€œIf I were to fight with your dad, what would you do?โ€

โ€œThat wonโ€™t happen,โ€ Lisa said indifferently, taking another bite of cake and shaking her head. โ€œThere are a lot of guards here, and my dad has many bodyguards. Youโ€™d be on the ground before you could even touch him.โ€

Lily was at a loss for words.
