Chapter 266

Lily was deep in thought and didn't notice Alexander come home. He found his wife lying on the sofa. Orange-red sunlight shone on her slender legs as she held a bag of chips in one hand, another chip near her mouth.

The TV was on, but Lily clearly wasn't watching. Her beautiful eyes were unfocused, her mind elsewhere. Alexander walked over, bent down, and opened his mouth.

Lily snapped back to reality as her husband approached. She saw his attempt to steal her chip and quickly popped it into her mouth. "Aha! You didn't get it! Yum!"

Lily laughed gleefully. Unexpectedly, Alexander kissed her and bit the remaining half of the chip. He then licked the food from the corner of her lips. "That tastes good!"

Lily was stunned by this flirtatious display from her smug president. He kissed her again, captivated by her cute expression. Lifting her into his arms, he seated her on his lap. "What were you thinking about? Were you thinking about me?"

"Oh my gosh, Alex is so narcissistic!" Lily exclaimed. "If I said no, would you throw me on the ground?" She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, fearing he might.

"Of course not," Alexander smiled, kissing her forehead. "Instead, I need to figure out why my wife isn't thinking about me when I think about her all the time!"

Lily was speechless. He's so skilled at sweet talk, she thought.

"I was thinking about you, but I also had other things on my mind. I had lunch with Liv today, and we decided to go to the beach in the next few days, before the weather gets too cold."

"Okay," he nodded. "Jenny said she submitted the entry for the annual competition. The preliminary results should be out when we return. I can focus on developing new products then."

Alexander raised an eyebrow, surprised. "You already have new inspiration?"

"Not really, just a rough idea," she said. "It's a new attempt. I'm unsure of the result, but I want to try it."

Alexander nodded thoughtfully. "Just try. Consider it experience, even if you fail."

"As expected of my husband. Great minds think alike," Lily complimented him with a smile.

Alexander looked at her happily. "What did you just say? Repeat it."

"I said great minds think alike!"

"Not that sentence. The one before!" Alexander shook his head. Lily felt her face blush.
