Chapter 249
"Yes," Edward nodded.
"Thank you!" Lily thanked him sincerely. This made Alexander jealous. "You only thank him? What about me?" "I don't need to be so polite with you!" Before Alexander could respond, Lily added, "Hey, you were the one who said that."
'It seems I've stepped into my own trap,' Alexander thought.
Edward looked at his surprised boss. Alexander stammered, unable to retort. 'It seems only my boss's wife can make him feel so helpless,' Edward thought.
"I might be late today. Call if you have any problems," Alexander said, putting on his coat.
"Okay!" Lily tiptoed to adjust his collar. Remembering the upcoming trip, she said, "Oh right, you mentioned a vacation. Do you have a destination in mind, or have you decided where to go?"
"Not yet. Why?"
"It's nothing. Liv has a few recommendations. Since you're busy and haven't decided, why don't the girls and I decide?" She was traveling with Olivia and Jenny and could plan the trip themselves.
"Sure," Alexander nodded.
"You're the best!" Lily kissed him. He laughed. "I should arrange a trip for you every month if I knew you were so easy to coax."
"Okay!" Lily readily agreed. "However, you should leave for work now, or you'll be late for your first meeting!" She pushed him out the door and waited until his car drove away before going inside.
Since Alexander had agreed to let the girls choose the vacation location, Lily only needed to discuss it with Olivia and Jenny. She turned on the television, watched the news, and called Olivia. "Are you the one who brought me home yesterday, Liv?"
"Oh, you still remember! I thought you were too drunk to remember," Olivia teased.
Lily didn't remember much. She needed to avoid drinking so much in the future. She seldom drank and didn't know her alcohol tolerance, but it was clearly low. "Did I say or do anything crazy when I was drunk?"
"Of course! You were chattering non-stop and refused to go home. You insisted we keep drinking, and I couldn't stop you!"
"Really?!" Lily gasped. She was surprised to be such a lousy drunk.
"Haha! Of course, it's a lie! I'm teasing you!" Olivia laughed. "You're not a bad drunk. You just slept and could barely tell me which block you lived in at Imperial Hills. I couldn't get in without an access card, but luckily Mr. Russell showed up."
Olivia paused. "By the way, I told Jenny you stayed at Lake Hills. Since that's near Imperial Hills, I managed to fool her. You almost exposed yourself. Remember this, and don't mix them up!" Lily was speechless. One tended to make mistakes when drunk.
