Listen to this chapter:

"Three days," Lily replied.

"That's it?!" Yasmin exclaimed, incredulous. She had expected Lily to request more time, perhaps months or even years. "I haven't felt my legs for over a decade. Three more days wouldn't bother me."

"Are you sure I can get up and walk in just three days?" Yasmin pressed her legs, feeling nothing. She would have sought treatment long ago if it were so simple. The queen had consulted numerous renowned doctors from around the world, yet they could only prevent further deterioration. Lily's confident assertion of a swift recovery was astonishing.

Yasmin wanted to believe it.

After a moment's consideration, Lily said, "I can't guarantee you'll walk as quickly as before. Your legs haven't been used for a long time, and your muscles have atrophied. You'll recover gradually."

Yasmin nodded repeatedly; it was more than she had dared to hope for. She didn't dream of regaining her youthful agility, but the prospect of walking without crutches was enough.

"I'll give you the three days. What else do you need?" Yasmin's tone was lighter, more cheerful.

"About Nickโ€”"

The queen stiffened. "That's not possible. Don't even ask."

Lily continued, "I only wanted to ask if he's okay. Could he see his father?"

"What? That's it?" Yasmin was puzzled.

"Of course, I doubt you'll release Nick. Honestly, Mike only came to see his son. They haven't seen each other in far too long," Lily explained. "And Mike is willing to take Nick's place as the test subject."

Yasmin sighed, stunned. "Even so," she said emotionally, "not everyone is replaceable. Some things are irreplaceable."

"Also, I have another request," Lily added.

The queen's irritation was evident. "Don't push it."

"I'll begin the acupuncture treatment immediately if you agree," Lily stated.

"Really?" Yasmin eyed her suspiciously.

"I'm here, and I have my tools," Lily added.
