"How dare you think of locking your boss up!" Lily snorted. "I was locked up long enough. No more for me."
Concerned, Olivia lost her smile and took Lily's hands, studying her. "You've lost weight."
"Hey, I gave birth, didn't I? You'll look thinner after this, too." Lily sighed, regretting her inability to see her children. She asked gently, "When are you due?" Olivia caressed her own tummy. "Soon. The doctor says in a few days."
"I shouldn't have asked you to come here. If not for the circumstances, I would have visited you," Lily said apologetically. "Don't say that," Olivia shook her head. "I'm pleased to see you. Besides, it was a cozy ride. I'm sure my baby didn't mind." She spoke firmly, palming her belly.
"I should have finished my treatment with Edward much earlier." Lily sighed and gazed at Edward, who looked remarkably well. "You look well. I guess the toxin hasn't affected you much." She took his pulse, surprised when she realized the toxin was gone. "Oh?"
"Is he okay?" Alexander asked, putting his arm around Lily's shoulder.
Lily looked at her husband, asking, "He's cured?"
"Dr. Dominic and Dr. Austin cured me," Edward said. "They're highly skilled; there's nothing wrong with me now."
Alexander continued, "I didn't tell you because I knew you'd be more reassured after examining Edward yourself. Besides, I bet you'd want to see Olivia after so long."
Lily was speechless. She had planned to cure Edward before returning to the embassy, but that was no longer necessary.
"Don't blame Alex," Olivia embraced Lily. "Besides, I wanted to see you. It's so good to have you back."
"Mommy?"
Lily froze at the child's voice. She turned to see a figure running down the staircase. Dominic had brought Galen. The boy flung himself into her arms. "Be careful!" Lily exclaimed, fearing a fall.
Alexander quickly scooped Galen up, saying, "Welcome home, honey."
