Listen to this chapter:

Lily had never aspired to save the world, nor did she believe she could. She studied medicine and perfumery purely out of interest, while her grandfather had compelled her to learn kickboxing. Lily harbored no grand ambitions, yet destiny had steered her onto this path.

Alexander said solemnly, "What do you plan to do after returning?" He wanted to understand her plans, not to object. Deep down, he knew she was right, though he didn't want to let her go. He also knew they needed to confront the issue together, rather than avoid it. He mused, I could try forcing her to stay, but would she be safe? Is my wife to live in hiding until the queen dies? Even then, someone else would continue the experiment. Avoiding the problem solved nothing.

Alexander knew Lily well. This is why he remained logical and calm, despite his reluctance.

Lily said simply, "I told Queen Yasmin I would conduct further research, eliminating the need for a vessel or transplantation. I also told her she could achieve her dream through cell regeneration." Austin's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Of course not," Lily said, glancing at him. He was speechless for a moment.

Dominic smacked Austin's head. "If it were that easy, we would have achieved it long ago, wouldn't we? Besides, even though I'm not a mainstream medical practitioner, I know cell regeneration isn't simple."

Austin rubbed his head. "I was just curious." He knew it was theoretically impossible, but Lily's confidence suggested she possessed knowledge he lacked.

"Still, she'll believe it," Lily added. Even Austin believed her, let alone a layperson like the queen.

"When someone becomes obsessed, they lose themselves and their judgment. Queen Yasmin not only believes it, she believes it fervently," Lily said casually. Many had warned Yasmin that the R10 experiment wouldn't work, but she chose to believe Fred instead. Because she wanted to believe.
