Yasmin was quiet, but her expression betrayed her disagreement with Dominic. Although Yudonia held relatively progressive educational beliefs, she was accustomed to controlling her country and its people, including her sons. Ross's defiance, in contrast to the obedience expected of other Yudonians, deeply upset her, leading to her fainting spell.

Dominic, noticing her stubborn expression, knew persuasion was futile. "If you think you're right, then so be it," he said. "It's out of my hands. But let me clarify: I can't help you if you refuse to let go. With your stubbornness, it's a miracle if you live another three to five years." He spread his fingers, speaking bluntly.

Yasmin was so exasperated she nearly fainted again. No one had ever spoken to her so harshly; his words felt like a curse.

Livid, she sputtered, "You... you..."

"Hey, don't blame me," Dominic said, stepping back with an innocent look. "If you continue like this, you might not even last that long."

"Asshole!" Yasmin hissed, clenching her teeth. She lunged for something to throw, but found nothing within reach.

Dominic skipped away. "Come on, hit me if you can."

Unable to reach anything, she lowered her hand, sulking. Fortunately, she didn't faint again; perhaps her breathing had improved after her coughing fit. Dominic noticed her flushed face and sat beside the bed. "Have you calmed down yet?"

Yasmin ignored him.

"Hey, come on," Dominic sighed, reaching for a glass of water when he felt a touch on his thigh. He looked down to see Yasmin weakly hitting him. It didn't hurt; she lacked the strength after her ordeal. Dominic remained still, letting her strike him. "Ah, that's the spot," he said. "A bit to the left... no, higher... not there, damn it!"
