Chapter 236
Alexander lifted his hand and gently stroked Lily's back, comforting her. "If you can't handle your alcohol, you shouldn't have drunk so much. It's dangerous to get drunk like that!"
He was grateful Lily had gotten home safely and relieved he'd arrived at the right time to let her in. Otherwise, she would have been left outside. Lily looked at him and smiled sillily. "I didn't drink much! Just" She brought her hand to his face and waved it in front of him.
Trying to count her fingers with her other hand, she mumbled, "O-One, two, three Only five glasses! It wasn't that much! Let me tell you, Jenny was the one who had too much! After the first five minutes, she was already d-drunk! Hehehe"
Alexander was speechless. Lily was a terrible drinker. She was already intoxicated but still had the energy to make fun of others.
"You're not allowed to drink without me," Alexander instructed, deciding he needed to set some rules before Lily went too far.
Lily smiled. "Does that mean I can drink as much as I want when you're around? Let's have a drink now! Married couples usually toast, but we haven't done that yet."
She raised her head, her cheeks flushed red, her eyes curved into crescent moons as she smiled. Even though she smelled of alcohol, Alexander found her incredibly attractive. Her smile made his heart flutter.
"Okay, let's do it, but not now!" he said.
"Why?" Lily asked, pushing his hand away petulantly.
"I'm not going to drink with someone this intoxicated. We'll do it when you're sober," Alexander added.
"B-But I'm not drunk!" Lily pouted, throwing a minor tantrum. Alexander was surprised she knew he was talking about her.
"Sure, you're not. It's getting late, so we should go to bed soon. Come on," Alexander said, trying to calm her down. He didn't want to waste his time arguing with a drunk Lily. Reasoning with her now was pointless; he'd reprimand her properly tomorrow when she was sober. He grabbed a thin blanket and covered Lily as she lay down again.
Alexander was about to get up when Lily grabbed his wrist. "Don't leave!"
"I'm not leaving. I just need to get a glass of water," Alexander explained.
"N-No, you can't leave!" Lily whined like an unreasonable child.
"Okay, I won't drink. I won't leave," Alexander conceded, sitting down again. Lily seemed satisfied and rested her face in his palm. "Don't lie to me!"
Alexander sat there, feeling her breath on his palm. It was ticklish, and he felt a strange sensation. She slept soundly, unaware of the temptation she was presenting. Lily was a real vixen.
He tried to remove his hand, but Lily wouldn't let go. He was amazed by her strength, even asleep. He carefully laid her flat on the sofa, moving her slightly so he could free his hand.
Lily turned her head, her hands searching for his. He quickly placed a heat pack in her palm instead. With something to hold, she settled down and fell into a deep sleep. When Alexander finally got up, his hands and legs were numb. He moved slowly to the kitchen, poured himself some water, and as he turned back to look at Lily, he remembered Olivia's suggestion and decided to prepare some hangover medication for her.
