Austin craned his neck, watching Maria lumber away. "Has she gone insane?"
"Perhaps," Alexander sighed gently. He felt more pity than resentment toward her. While she was responsible for his family's plight, it wasn't entirely her fault. Beyond offering comfort, he could do nothing more for her now.
"I wonder how Rhea would feel if she knew what happened to her mother," Austin said sadly.
"I doubt she'd care," Alexander replied, turning to re-enter the car. He'd witnessed Rhea's cold treatment of her mother firsthand.
"What a piece of work Rhea is," Austin sighed, agreeing.
Alexander, settling into the car, looked at Mike. "What happened?" Mike asked curiously.
"Do you still remember Rhea's number?" Alexander asked thoughtfully.
Mike nodded. "I do." He'd memorized it to stay in touch, fearing phone loss. Even after Rhea took his phone, he retained the number. "Write it down for me," Alexander said, finding pen and paper.
Considering Cameron's relation to Rhea and Maria, Alexander decided to inform him of the events.
After speaking with Dominic, Queen Yasmin remained locked in her room all afternoon. As darkness fell, her bodyguard attempted to deliver her dinner, but the room's silence unnerved him.
"Your Majesty? Your Majesty?" He grew increasingly anxious, receiving no reply. Exchanging a worried glance with another guard, he gritted his teeth and opened the door.
The room was dark. "Get out!" Yasmin snapped impatiently.
The bodyguard knelt, offering the dinner tray. "Your Majesty, you should eat something."
"Take it away," she replied flatly, averting her gaze.
