The guard burst into the room and apprehended Dominic. Fred arrived a moment later, but it was too late. The electrocardiogram emitted a high-pitched screech, displaying a flat line. "No, no, no!" Fred frantically shook Lily's shoulders. "Don't you dare die on me! This is an order!"

As he raged, doctors rushed in to begin CPR. However, the flat line persisted, confirming Lily's death. "No!" Fred lunged at Dominic, who the guard restrained. "Why? Why?! She's your favorite student! Why did you kill her?! You were supposed to save her!"

Fred punched Dominic, who spat out blood. Despite his injured face, Dominic smirked.

"I did save her," he murmured, gazing gently at Lily.

"You're a crazy old man!"

Fred was furious. He should never have trusted him. A miracle doctor? Acupuncture? It was all a lie! Dominic had come to kill her, not save her. How could he have believed such a charlatan? "Save her! If she dies, I'll kill you all!" he shouted.

The doctors knew Lily was dead, but dared not give up. They continued CPR, even bringing out the defibrillator. Initially hesitant, fearing further damage to her heart, they had no other option.

A doctor, glancing at the ECG, solemnly announced, "Clear!"

Just as they prepared to use the defibrillator, a faint grunt was heard. The flat line on the electrocardiogram abruptly spiked, then settled into a steady rhythm.

Lily's eyes fluttered open.

"She's alive?"

The doctor recoiled in shock, a mix of disbelief and relief washing over them.

Surprised, Fred rushed to her side. "Lily? Lily?"

Lily weakly opened her eyes again before closing them, her fingers twitching.

"I knew you weren't going to die!" Fred laughed, his relief palpable.
