Listen to this chapter:

If Lily died, all his efforts would have been wasted, and the final phase of R10 would be impossible.

"Your Grace..." The doctors were curious about the removal of the wires and tubes.

"Get out," Fred said grimly.

"Your Graceโ€”"

"Out!" The duke exploded. The doctors quickly fled the room, leaving them alone. Fred turned to his bodyguard. "You too!"

Taken aback, the bodyguard obeyed.

Dominic sat beside the bed, gently holding Lily's wrist, feeling for her pulse. Fred had witnessed a similar procedure before and knew its remarkable, albeit unconventional, effectiveness.

"Leave us," Dominic said coldly, glancing at Fred.

Fred hesitated. "You can save her, right?" He needed reassurance. For two days, doctors had offered no hope, leaving him despondent.

"I can't guarantee it. Everyone has their ownโ€”"

Fred held up a hand. "Okay, okay, I get it! Everyone has their own destiny, but I don't believe in destiny. I believe in you, and I believe you can revive her."

He gazed at Lily, then walked to the door. "I'll leave, but you better live up to your reputation." He left.

Alone with Lily, Dominic held her hand, noting her thin, pale wrist; the veins were almost visible. She had endured so muchโ€”the hardships of pregnancy, and even after childbirth, her suffering continued.

'Why do you put yourself through this, Lily?' he thought, wanting to scold her. But he knew; if she were awake, she would undoubtedly win any argument.

"You little brat!" he scolded softly, focusing on her pulse.
