"Mike, it's me," Rhea whispered.
Fred's eyes widened at the name. He stared, surprised she would call him of all people.
"Huh?" Mike sounded puzzled.
Rhea, anxious and sweating, wasn't sure if she still controlled him from a distance. Nonetheless, she continued, "It's me, Rhea."
"Oh, are you there? Did you find my son?" Mike asked hastily.
"Not yet. We'll discuss that later." She glanced at Fred, embarrassed by the call, and saw his grim expression. A chill ran down her spine. "How's the situation?"
"They haven't taken any action. Oh, yes, Dr. Blanc came last night and said they found traces of an invisibility potion on your hair," Mike reported, like a subordinate.
Rhea initially nodded, but the last part stopped her cold. "What?!"
"That's it." Mike sounded triumphant.
"What invisibility potion? What's that?" Rhea was baffled.
"Didn't you ask me to tell them you escaped using an invisibility potion? They didn't believe it at first, but people came and took things from the house where Alex held you. They studied these things, and their analysis revealed an invisibility potion." Mike paused, confused. "Did you develop the potion?"
"What nonsense are you spouting? Of course not!" Rhea retorted, glancing at Fred. She wanted to show Fred Mike's obedience, his willingness to provide information, but this... this was unexpected.
How can they take an invisibility potion seriously? Are they insane?! she thought.
"According to them, your hair disappeared during their experiment. It only revealed its... molecular structure under a microscope," Mike said. "Rhea, you developed it, right?"
"I didn't! I was bluffing!" she blurted, catching herself before looking at Fred.
His glare sent a shiver down her spine.
"Mike, keep a close eye on them, okay? Report to me immediately if Alexander is up to anything."
"Okay," Mike replied obediently.
