Fred sat alone with the woman, studying her from head to toe. Despite her attempt at dignity, her clothes were disheveled. "How did you...?" he began.
The woman raised her head. "I'm Rhea. I was the boss's most capable assistant. I helped the organizationโ"
Fred waved a hand dismissively. "I have no interest in your background. Why are you here? How did you find me?"
"Well," Rhea smiled steadily, "I didn't know who led the organization until... I found the identifier on the boss."
"What identifier? That round metal piece? Isn't that just a game token or something?" Fred asked casually, attempting to probe her without admitting she was right.
Rhea anticipated this. She smiled thoughtfully. โThat's no ordinary game token. The boss used it to communicate with you. I didn't think it was significant; I just found the pattern familiar.
"Later, I realized the design resembled the emblem on the royal logo I saw in Yudonia. It was a fleeting glimpse, so it took time to recall. Still, you clearly recognized it, didn't you, Your Grace?"
Rhea smiled triumphantly.
Fred, however, took the metal object indifferently. "You mean this? Yes, the pattern resembles our emblem, but it could be a fake. Besides, you might have found it anywhere. How would I know why you're here with it?" He paused, then added, "Oh, and what's that bottle of perfume for? I don't use such things."
"It's not perfume. It's R20."
"What?" Fred's eyes narrowed in confusion.
"You needn't be wary, Your Grace. I served the boss for years. Though my position was low, and I couldn't contact you directly, I know much about the organization. Unlike others, I wish to serve you; our beliefs align. We're on the same side. I can help you," Rhea declared confidently.
"You can help me?" Fred chuckled. "How? Do I even need your help? Wait. What do you mean by R20?"
"I'm sure the organization didn't conduct countless experiments just to develop R10. R10 is crucial, but that doesn't negate the others. Otherwise, they wouldn't have invested so much effort and resources.
"The pandemic in Burnkwen is a prime example," Rhea continued. "Conventional weapons are intimidating, but no one uses them lightly. Chemicals, however, are different.
"We can control their use, deploy them strategically, and do so subtly." Her eyes shone with ambition, envisioning a promising future.
Fred remained silent, considering her words thoughtfully.
