Listen to this chapter:

The delivery felt heavy in Alexander's hands. He held his breath and carefully opened the lid. Inside lay two infants, wrapped in blankets, seemingly sound asleep. He sighed in relief, but his anxiety quickly returned. He checked their breathing, a finger beneath each tiny nose. "It's them!" he exclaimed.

"Oh, my God!" Mike's voice cracked, near sobs. Tears welled in his eyes, his emotion even more profound than Alexander's. He was overjoyed for Alexander, remembering the organization's kidnapping of Nick. Seeing the infants, he felt a flicker of hope. If Alex's twins can return safely, so can Nicky!

Alexander nodded. "Let's go home."

The delivery bag had been larger than usual, explaining its initial weight. The audacity of the delivery man, bringing the twins out in the openโ€”a man who appeared incapable of self-defenseโ€”was striking.

Back home, Alexander's worry deepened as the twins remained asleep. Austin examined them, concluding that they had been given a small dose of sleeping medication. Alexander felt a mixture of relief and anger. What kind of sick men would drug infants?!

After calming himself, he assessed the situation. "I have three questions. First, who sent that man? Second, was it the organization? And finally, are these children mine?"

Mike and Austin were shocked.

"My wife gave birth to a boy and a girl," Alexander explained. "Considering their age, they are likely mine. However, they could have sent someone else's children. We need concrete proof."

Austin nodded. "You're right. Let's get hair or fingernail clippings for a DNA test."

"Yes," Alexander agreed. "We must be certain. But we must also care for them, regardless."

Mike added thoughtfully, "As for the delivery man, I don't think he's connected to the organization."

"I agree," Alexander said. He was too easily apprehended and seemed utterly unaware. The organization wouldn't have survived this long with such incompetence.

"Someone hired him," Austin mused, sipping tea. "He likely knows nothing."

News soon arrived from Cameron. The interrogation confirmed their suspicions: the delivery man was an unsuspecting food delivery driver. The sender's informationโ€”name, address, and phone numberโ€”was falsified, yielding no useful leads. Nevertheless, their speculation proved correct.
