Listen to this chapter:

Alexander narrowed his eyes. "So you asked Mike to bury the body on purpose?"

Rhea smiled, glancing at him sideways. "Why else? His timidity and caution would make him worry about spreading the virus. He knows how contagious the lab viruses were, and the severe consequences. He'd naturally seek your help." She paused. "However, I was curious whether you'd help him first, or look for Cameron."

She clapped. "Oh, I forgot you have helpers. Given your wealth and power, you always can. Still, I'm surprised you came to rescue Cameron personally."

After a brief pause, Alexander asked, "Is that corpse contagious?"

"No, no, no," Rhea said, shaking her head. "I have no idea."

Alexander frowned, puzzled.

Rhea continued, "I only run the research. The outcomes and subsequent developments are often beyond my control. There's insufficient time, and the research isn't mature enough. So, I don't know if it's contagious."

Alexander was taken aback. He knew Rhea was unstable, but this was beyond anything he expected. She doesn't care about human life, or the harm her actions could cause.

"I'm speaking the truth, but people don't like hearing it," she shrugged. "If I'd known, that 'nut job' wouldn't have died so soon, especially since he wasn't in the last phase yet."

The unexpected death baffled Rhea, but she lacked time to investigate. She planned to research it later.

"Your medical research is an absolute disaster for humankind!" Alexander exclaimed, his disgust evident in his cold stare. He rarely disliked anyone this much. How can she be so callous?

He took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. "Did you wait for me because you're confident I'll cooperate, or to stop me? Or perhaps to kidnap me?"

"Why kidnap you? That's pointless," Rhea chuckled, taking two steps forward. "Don't you see? We have similar interests. You know what the organization is capable of, but do you know R10's final step? They'll use Lily as a vessel to enhance and perfect the virus for their real target. They likely chose her because of her exposure to various herbs. Furthermore, isn't she a fighter? Strong enough to handle the virus. R10's potency is too powerful; one couldn't withstand it without a robust constitution." Rhea shook her head. "Honestly, I'd like to try it, if possible."

A glimmer of anticipation shone in her eyesโ€”she wasn't joking. Alexander was even more convinced of her psychopathy.
