Listen to this chapter:

"Do you think the organization cares if she's pregnant?" Rhea asked coldly.

Mike was speechless. He thought, She's right. Human lives mean nothing to Rhea, let alone the inhumane organization. They only care about achieving their goals, regardless of the cost. But it matters to me! Lily and Alexander had been helping him find his son, despite his past actions. He had to save Lily; he'd already failed Alexander.

"I'll never forgive myself if Lily becomes a test subject!" he muttered.

Taking a deep breath, he said, "I'm willing to work with you, but you must follow my instructions. Disagree, and you can forget it. You're skilled with poisons, but no one else can help you locate the organization if you kill me. Furthermore," he paused, "you can't appear in public after what you've done. Forget about historical immortality; no one, not even your parents, will know how you die."

Rhea gritted her teeth. She was angry, but he was right. She couldn't reveal herself. That's why she'd sought his cooperation. Reluctantly, she nodded. "Okay."

Mike offered a slight smile. "Guard him well. The organization has abandoned him, but discovery would be troublesome. Besides, you still need him as leverage."

"Don't worry. I'll hide him securely. No one but us knows about this secret room. And Rick's already gone, hasn't he?" Rhea said confidently.

Mike nodded, trusting her competence.

"Now," he mused, "about that last step you mentioned, is there a way to counter it?" His voice was low, his gaze intense. Since she knows so much, she might know a solution, a way to prevent it.

Rhea chuckled. "Counter it? Do you think I can solve everything? Would I have asked for your help if I could?" She saw his expression and added, "I discovered it accidentally; I don't know if it can be countered. Still, based on what I saw, I think Lily will be safe for two days."

"How?" Mike asked anxiously.

Rhea chuckled. "As you said, she's pregnant. She's due soon, isn't she?"

Mike knew Lily was far along, but he didn't know her due date; he'd considered asking inappropriate. Rhea saw his uncertainty.
