Lily understood Edward's pain and was shocked. She ceased her persuasion, raising a hand before gently placing it on his shoulder. "All right," she sighed, "but be careful, and remember to stay under the radar." Edward nodded, starting to leave, but she stopped him again. "Edward!"

When he turned, she stepped forward. "There may be a solution for the virus. Don't give up! People are waiting for you." Edward was stunned, likely doubting a solution existed. Yet, seeing the sincerity in her eyes, he understood her intent, even if it was merely comfort and hope. He nodded, a slight smile touching his lips. "I know."

Several people left the office in quick succession. Within half an hour, the news spread rapidly. Few knew of the masked man's existence, especially the ground staff. The vaccine development base hadn't fully disclosed this laboratory's project. Beyond the "vaccine," other projects existed, with laboratories and teams holding different responsibilities. Only some laboratory personnel knew the masked man: Mike, Rhea, Lily, his bodyguards, and a few others within the organization.

This news spread amongst smaller groups, fueling anxiety to find the "boss's" whereabouts. They had to proceed subtly, avoiding alerting the vaccine development base.

An impromptu emergency meeting convened in the laboratory's small room. Mike, accustomed to giving orders, sat in the main seat, Rhea opposite him, her dissatisfaction evident. Lily, unconcerned, pulled up a chair and sat down. She then noticed an unfamiliar man across from Rhea.

He was powerfully built, a seasoned practitioner, Lily instantly recognized. His every movement hinted at the strength beneath his suit and leather shoes. Though formidable, he sat quietly, his gaze sharp, his back straight. This man is a master, Lily concluded, lowering her eyes to her notebook and pen, occasionally writing and sketching. She maintained the most indifferent demeanor in the room.

"People like us seldom gather," Mike said, clearing his throat. He looked around, his voice deep. "The boss is missing!"

Silence fell, though no one was surprised.

Rhea snorted softly. "Get to the point!"

Mike glared. "We must keep his identity secret. The priority is finding him while remaining discreet."

"Simple," Rhea said, crossing her legs and stroking her nails with a sarcastic smile.

"Any clues?" Mike asked, raising an eyebrow.

Her smile remained. "I'll have to ask you that!"

The atmosphere thickened with tension.
