Half the man's face was visible when the mask cracked, eliciting gasps from everyone. Despite their anticipation, the sight was terrifying.
Lily instinctively covered her stomach, fearing the image would frighten her unborn twins. The man's face was indescribable; a horrifying tapestry of dense scars, his mouth and nose grotesquely skewed. His skin bore the marks not only of burns but also of knife wounds, a twisted accumulation of injuries that instilled revulsion.
His face alone was frightening, but coupled with his vicious gaze and malevolent demeanor, he seemed a devil incarnate, forever perpetrating evil. A fresh bloodstain on his lip added to the horrifying effect.
"Aargh!" The man screamed, writhing and shrieking as he desperately tried to replace his mask, his efforts frustrated by his bonds. The mask cracked further as he frantically rubbed his face against the bed. Finally succeeding, he glared at Mike. "I'll kill you, Mike! I'll kill your son, too!"
"How dare you?!" Mike slapped him, shattering the mask. The other side of the man's face was even more disturbing, resembling a repeatedly trampled mass of clay. "Arghโ" he screamed, his head thrashing as he lunged towards Mike.
Mike, unafraid and fueled by resentment, sneered. "You're disgusting! No wonder you wear that thing. Your appearance reflects your inner self. You deserve such ugliness for being so vile! You should look even uglier to match your spitefulness! Why bother researching viruses? You should study plastic surgery! But too bad! No matter how you fix it, you can't change how ugly you are inside. You'll always be ugly! What a joke! How could the world be ruled by someone so ugly? If it were to happen, I'm sure God would destroy our world!"
"I'll kill you, Mike!" The man screamed, lunging again.
"Watch out!" Lily cried, but Mike, consumed by anger and mockery, failed to heed the warning. A sharp pain shot through his leg. "Argh!" he screamed.
