Chapter 1775

Fabian followed his niece's gaze, glancing behind him before casually turning back and curling his lip.

"Why? Can't I see him?"

"Well, it's not that you can't. However, you've brought many men. Are you here to see my father or to threaten him? I understand your intentions, being my uncle, but it's hard to say what my father would think."

Anastasia's calm indifference left Fabian unsure. He considered this, looking upstairs, then moved closer, lowering his voice. "Tell me honestly. Is your father truly home?"

"Please! Everyone knows my father's taken a few days off. Since he's not at work, he's at home. Where else could he be?" Anastasia scoffed, speaking naturally.

Pensive, he looked up again, coughed hard, and turned to his men. "Go outside and wait for me."

They left, and the house fell silent. Anastasia felt relieved but maintained her calm, indifferent expression.

"Uncle Fabian, you still insist on seeing my father, huh? But I must remind you, he hasn't been in a good mood. Besides, I know you're not in a good mood either, so you shouldn't see each other. What do you think?" She spoke quietly, partially covering her mouth.

Fabian rubbed his fingers together, frowning in hesitation. His eyes darted around, as if making a decision.

"Even if your father gets angry, I should see him. He's my brother-in-law, after all. Since he's ill, I have even more reason to visit."

He bypassed Anastasia and bolted upstairs. Anastasia couldn't stop him.

"Uncle Fabian!" She shouted, chasing after him.

But he was already at the door. She caught up, grabbing the doorknob and blocking his entry, breathless.

Fabian saw her flushed face and suddenly seemed to realize something. He took a half-step back, sizing her up.

"Tasia, there are no outsiders now. Tell me the truth. Your father isn't inside, is he?"

"What are you talking about?" Anastasia chuckled, still catching her breath.

"Come on, cut the act. What happened to your father? If he's in trouble, I can offer advice. So? Has he been arrested?" He gestured nervously. The thought of Cameron's arrest and its impact on him and the project weighed heavily on him.

"Uncle Fabian, you're overthinking it." Anastasia's calm response made him realize his own overreaction. "Since that's not the case, let me see him!" He said, half-probingly, wanting to move forward.

"Uncle Fabian!" She called out, holding the doorknob. Seemingly making a decision, she bit her lip. "Since you're so concerned, I shouldn't stop you, especially since I'm your niece. However, I hope you've thought it through." She opened the door, gesturing for him to enter.

Fabian hesitated, standing at the doorway, eyeing her suspiciously, wondering if it was a trap.
