Olivia hesitated to drink the milk, but knew Lily wouldn't continue until she calmed down. She finally sipped the milk. Lily, sensing Olivia's distress, held her hand and looked into her eyes. "I was involved in that research institute experiment," she explained. "That's why I know something."

"You were involved?" Olivia frowned, then her eyes widened in recognition. "You mean...that abandoned research institute? I heard it was shut down, the staff disbanded, the experiment a complete failure."

"It didn't fail; it went underground," Lily corrected. "These people haven't given up, and their actions have far-reaching consequences. I can't give you details, but there was an experiment, and they developed some very unusual drugs. I'm not certain if Edward's been affected, but his personality change likely stems from that organization." Lily had been subtly monitoring Olivia's emotional state through her touch, noting her calming demeanor.

Olivia was indeed absorbing the information. She lowered her head, then looked up, appearing less distraught. "So, it's not Edward's intention to divorce me? He might be under the influence of one of these drugs?"

Lily nodded. It was speculation, but it offered Olivia some comfort, and it seemed plausible.

Olivia's spirits lifted. "I knew he couldn't be so heartless! He's loyal and righteous. How could he change so drastically? He must be under the influence of a drug—" She paused, a new thought dawning. "If he's under the influence, can he recover? Will it harm his health? How can I help him?"

"That's what I've been researching, and Alex is investigating as well," Lily replied, "but it's all still ongoing. As I said, their actions have a wide impact and are very dangerous. We're not sure we can handle it." She sighed. "I told you all this so you wouldn't get too upset and do something rash. Right now, the most important thing is for you to take care of yourself and your baby."

Olivia nodded, worry still etched on her face. "Then what should I do now?"

"Talk to him calmly, see what's going on. If he insists on the divorce, then agree."

"Agree?" Olivia bristled. "No! I won't divorce him. Never!"

"Olivia—" Lily began, but Olivia cut her off. "Don't try to persuade me! I won't agree! If he's fallen for someone else, or cheated, I'll leave him, but that's not the case. He's under the influence of a drug, doesn't know what he's doing. He's in danger! How can I abandon my husband now? No, I absolutely will not divorce him!"

"What if he insists?" Lily asked.
