Alexander's frown deepened as he watched Mike. He gripped Lily's hand, saying, "Let's go!" He didn't want to listen any longer; he feared further persuasion. He understood the situation's complexities and their lack of choice. He knew they could resolve this quickly if Lily feigned cooperation, allowing them to investigate the organization's origins and destroy it. However, Alexander couldn't risk Lily's life. He would willingly undertake such a mission himself, but he wouldn't involve Lily. She was the most important woman in his life, and he wouldn't risk her, even with the slightest chance of harm. He couldn't bear the thought.

Still, he couldn't get Lily to her feet. She remained seated, gazing at Mike. Calmly, she asked, "What do you need me to do?"

"I disagree! You can't do this! Do you understand me?" Alexander exploded, his anger finally erupting. He'd never been this furious since they'd met. He'd always supported and understood her, but this time, his rage was overwhelming. His eyes were bloodshot, his expression grave. He felt like a raging lion, bewildered and enraged.

"Don't listen to him! Have you forgotten his lies? How can you trust him? Are you the only one who can solve this? Why must it be you? Stop listening! Let's go!" Unable to lift her, he bent to carry her away. He didn't know what else Mike would say, but he couldn't let Lily remain. Knowing her well, he saw Mike's words had already affected her. It was like the plague's antidote—she didn't have to get involved, but she did. Her words might be harsh, but she was inherently kind.

As he leaned to lift her, he saw Mike approach. Then, Lily softly called, "Alex..."

"Yeah? Oof..." Alexander's eyes widened as Lily unexpectedly wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close and kissing him. The gentle kiss instantly calmed his anger, easing his worry and anxiety. Stunned at first, Alexander's gaze soon filled with helplessness as he watched the woman he loved kissing him passionately. Though he didn't want to yield, Lily knew this would work. He couldn't get angry or speak. Helplessly, he sighed.

Mike was speechless, taken aback. Recovering, he quickly turned, covering his face in slight embarrassment. Lily had kissed Alexander to temporarily calm him; he was too emotional, and she couldn't reason with him. It was the simplest solution, and it worked perfectly.
