Listen to this chapter:

Maria had been asking around for two days, but found no news. This was discouraging. She hadn't expected such difficulty inquiring aboutโ€”what she consideredโ€”mere gossip about someone's love life. Even questioning the wives of several ministers yielded nothing.

Initially, she suspected their reticence stemmed from her relationship with Cameron, so she assured them it was fine; after all, he'd been single for years, and a new relationship would be positive. Despite this, they remained tight-lipped. Some even curiously questioned her about Cameron's new partner.

After two days of fruitless inquiries, her voice was hoarse. Fabian's patience was waning; his demeanor grew gloomier each day.

"What's the point of spa days and socializing if you can't handle such a trivial matter?!" he exploded.

"Trivial? If you think it's trivial, you do it! People constantly ask me about your brother-in-law's dating lifeโ€”his preferences, when he'll find someoneโ€”they even try to set themselves up with him!" Maria snapped, after a large gulp of water. "You know Cameron; he leaves no trace. Where did you hear this? Does he actually have a new woman?"

"Nonsense! It can't be fake. You women are useless; all gossip and fabrications. When it comes to the truth, you know nothing!"

"Since we're so useless, you go ask! Go back to whoever told you, and ask how they know Cameron has a mistress but not who she is!"

Fabian was speechless. His initial source, a slip of the tongue, now seemed impossible to approach. Everyone knew his connection to Cameron; a new woman for Cameron would likely diminish his own standing. He was acutely aware that he was known as "Cameron's brother-in-law," not Fabian Moore.

"Then you..." he began, but was interrupted by footsteps. Rhea entered.

This was her first return home since their argument; she'd been at the laboratory. Maria, initially stunned, exclaimed, "Ree, you're back! I worried you wouldn't return after that day..." She paused, noticing her husband's expression. "It's good you're back. Have you eaten? I'll have the kitchen prepare something. You..."

Rhea interrupted. "Are you going to Cameron's house?"

"Huh?" Maria was taken aback.

"Are you going to Cameron's house?" Rhea repeated. "If you are, I'm coming."

"What for? Looking for that stupid pen holder? Enough! Haven't you caused enough trouble?!" Fabian snapped.

Rhea took a deep breath. "I'm going to apologize to Anastasia."

"Huh?!" Maria was even more shocked. This was unprecedented. Rhea, despite countless fights and scoldings, had never apologized. This was a complete change.
