Chapter 144

"Ugh, Jenny again," Alexander frowned, looking displeased. "I should transfer her back to headquarters soon."

Lily was speechless. Is this how a CEO should treat his employees? she thought.

"I'll have other colleagues even if you transfer her," she said. "You can't expect me to work alone. What if my new superior is a man?" Before she could finish, Alexander pulled her close and pressed her against the bed.

Staring fiercely, he feigned anger. "How dare you?"

Lily chuckled. "I wouldn't dare to do anything. In comparison, Jenny seems a much better choice, doesn't she?"

Alexander grunted, but eased his weight. Caressing her hair, he asked, "Let's make our relationship public, shall we?"

The smile on Lily's face froze. She shook her head. "Let's wait a bit longer."

He sighed. He respected her choice. Initially, he hadn't minded their secret marriage; it didn't matter to him since they were already married. However, he hated the secrecy. It wasn't exhilarating.

"I'm just downstairs! You can meet me anytime," Lily patted his cheek, coaxing him. "Plus, I won't be here long. We still have forever to do everything."

He grunted, then said profoundly, "You're right. We have forever to do everything."

His tone sounded strange. Lily stared into his eyes, her cheeks reddening as she realized his meaning. "You're a pervert!" She pushed him aside and stood up.

The next day, sunlight poured into the room through the floor-to-ceiling window. Melanie opened her eyes slowly, greeted by the spectacular view. She felt less remorseful about her choice, even though her body ached, as if her limbs had been pulled apart and reattached. He promised to bring me to Westwood to meet all the top perfumers. He said he would help me become one of the best in the industry, she thought.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist and yanked her back onto the bed. "Ah!" she yelled as she was pressed down. Fear filled her as she stared at the man with wide eyes.

"Frank, Iโ€”I'm a little tired. Can I take a shower first?" His blue eyes bored into hers.

"You have no right to refuse!"
