Chapter 1429

"Dee-Dee won't let…" he said, turning and pointing upstairs. "Mom and Tasia want to talk." His sentences were simple, yet surprisingly coherent.

Lily was initially concerned about his speech, wondering if he struggled to express himself. However, research later revealed Galen was a precocious communicator for his age; most children his age couldn't construct coherent sentences. Galen, on the other hand, expressed his thoughts logically and quite well.

Hearing him, Lily and Anastasia glanced upstairs simultaneously. They saw Daisy hurrying to the stairwell, a sheepish smile on her face.

"Ma'am, I was worried he'd disturb you, so I kept him upstairs. But he ran out while I was getting him some clothes," Daisy explained.

"It's alright. I'll keep Galen company. You go ahead," Lily replied calmly.

Daisy nodded and returned upstairs. Anastasia carried Galen to the sofa. "Lily," she said, despite herself, "the nanny is so young!"

"She's a little over thirty, I believe. Quite young, indeed," Lily agreed.

"She doesn't look it; more like twenty-something. And she's pretty. Don't you worry about hiring someone so young? What if…" Anastasia trailed off, sensing the inappropriateness of her thoughts.

Lily smiled nonchalantly. "What if Alexander has an affair with her?"

Anastasia smiled, her lips pursed.

"N-No, no way! No matter how young and pretty she is, she's not as beautiful as you are. Besides, you're so capable. If I were a man, I'd choose you too!"

"Me too!" Galen chimed in quickly.

The women laughed.

"Being who he is, Alex could have an affair anytime, and nobody could stop him," Lily said, shrugging. "Perhaps he worries more about me having an affair."

"Nonsense. You're not that kind of person," Anastasia retorted instantly.

"What's 'having an affair'?" Galen asked curiously.

The women realized their conversation was too complex for him, yet children of his age often enjoyed listening to adult conversations.

"Uh… uh…" Anastasia stammered, unsure how to respond.

Lily considered for a moment. "It's being dishonest to someone else and doing something you shouldn't. It's a bad thing."

Galen furrowed his brow, pondering this for a while before nodding decisively. "Then I won't have an affair!"

Anastasia burst into laughter, Lily joining her. He truly has no idea what he's talking about! Galen blinked, uncertain why they were laughing. Did I say something wrong? I shouldn't do a bad and dishonest thing, right?
