Chapter 137

Just as things were about to get heated, Lily's phone rang. She fumbled for it and answered, "Hello?"

"Lily, I'm almost back. I'm getting something to eat. Do you want anything?" Jenny's voice came from the other end.

Lily instantly awoke. She pushed Alexander away, jolting upright. "N-No, thank you. I'm not hungry."

"Okay, were you asleep? I'll be back soon," Jenny promised.

"Right, yeah!" Lily hung up and then tugged at Alexander. "Hurry, Jenny's about to come back! You must leave now, and don't let her see you!" She scrambled to tidy her clothes and handed him his coat. It was then she noticed he was still on the sofa, a dark expression on his face.

"Okay, I know it's my fault, and I'm sorry, but it can't be helped. You know we can't reveal our relationship yet, and Jenny knows you!" She coaxed him. Alexander huffed, "You're making it sound like I'm a nobody."

He was even throwing a tantrum.

"Right, everyone knows you—you're the famous Mr. Russell. However, could you please leave now?" She wanted to hurry him, but also didn't want to upset him.

Jenny was probably in the lobby. Why had she said she wasn't hungry? Jenny could be there any minute. If only Lily had said she wanted something to eat; that would have bought her more time. Lily wanted to urge Alexander to leave quickly without angering him.

Alexander glared at her as he stood, putting on his coat. Lily couldn't wait any longer.

She pushed him toward the door. "Make sure to avoid her, and I'll call you soon! Wait, you're probably staying at this hotel, right? Give me your room number, and I'll come to you!" Knowing Alexander, he'd likely stay at the same hotel since he'd traveled so far. This was the easiest solution. Alexander's face brightened. "You better make sure you do!"

"Yes, yes, I promise!" Lily said.

"Remember to come over!" Alexander insisted.

"Yes, I'll remember, I promise," Lily replied.

"You need to compensate me for my loss," He lowered his head, pointing to his cheek.

How could he be such a spoiled brat? Lily could only comply, standing on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. Alexander, ever the mischievous one, turned his face as her lips touched his cheek, kissing her lips instead, then ruffling her hair. "I'm leaving!"

"Okay," Her fingers traced her lips as her heart fluttered.

She stood at the elevator entrance to see him off, waving until he entered. As the doors closed, the elevator on the right arrived, and Jenny stepped out. "Hi, were you waiting for me?" Jenny opened her arms to hug her, seeing Lily standing there.
