Chapter 135
It felt nice to be in Alexander's embrace. Lily lifted her head, asking, "When did you get here?" Alexander kissed her forehead. "Take a guess."
"Now he wants to play games!" Lily thought, giving him a playful glare. Then she said, "You left the same day we did, didn't you? Even though we arrived first, you weren't far behind." Alexander smiled, pecking her cheek. "You're such a smart girl!"
"That's because I tried calling you but couldn't get through. You never turn off your phone, even during meetings. I figured you were on the plane, right?" As Lily recalled the day's events, she pieced together a timeline. She never suspected Alexander was coming to see her.
"Well done. I should reward you for being so clever, shouldn't I?" Alexander smirked, his affection for Lily deepening. He carried her to the sofa, sat down, and held her close. He found her warmth comforting.
Lily wrapped her arms around his neck to stay secure. "So, you arranged the first-class flight and the Rolls-Royce?"
"Uh-huh," Alexander nodded.
"You're the client Jenny mentioned on that call, aren't you?" Lily accused, her voice slightly raised.
"Yep," Alexander admitted.
"You shouldn't abuse your authority like that!" Lily lightly punched him. "It's so late! How could you make Jenny leave to see a client? What if she got into trouble?"
It was clearly Alexander's plan; he was conveniently here while Jenny was absent. However, Lily felt bad that their fun might have caused inconvenience or danger to others.
"You've gotten quite close to her, haven't you?" Alexander was oddly jealous.
"She's my coworker and friend; of course, I'm close to her!" Lily replied. "I should call her and tell her to come back."
Alexander stopped her as she reached for her phone. "Really? Now? If she returns, I'll have to leave, since you don't want others to know about our relationship."
Lily looked at him reluctantly. They had just reunited, and the thought of sending him away was unbearable. However, she worried about Jenny, as it was very late.
"I know, but we can't leave her out there too long," Lily said, withdrawing her hand. "We still have time. Jenny and I are only sightseeing tomorrow. You and I can spend more time together after that."
"So Jenny's more important than me?" Alexander whined, his envy of Jenny growing. Lily glanced at him. "Are you jealous?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Alexander retorted, showing no embarrassment. In fact, he seemed rather proud.
"Jenny's a girl, and why would you be jealous of a friend?" Lily was puzzled.
