Chapter 1122
Heather wondered if this was a necessary stage in improving her kickboxing skills. She couldn't tell if it was beneficial or detrimental; she could barely walk.
Chump rushed to her aid, helping her onto the sofa. "Let me get the family doctor to check you, Ms. Riggs!"
"No, it's fine. This isn't something a doctor can fix," Heather replied, knowing her ailment wasn't medical. Her training with the secret handbook's techniques was the cause; a doctor wouldn't understand. She needed to self-regulate her internal energies. "I need to sit and balance my inner energy. Stay here and guard me," she instructed sternly, crossing her legs.
Chump nodded, then paused. "Should I tell them to cancel the car? We won't be leaving."
Heather's dazed mind finally recalled her plan. "No, we'll leave as usual!" she said. "But you're stillโฆ"
"Go get Hannah. Tell her to dress and go in my place, just as before," she instructed.
While curious about the unfolding conflict, Heather prioritized a direct confrontation with Alexander to gauge their skill disparity. Her current state, however, rendered this impossible. A meaningless fight was undesirable; it was best to remain absent.
Furthermore, sheโd promised Ralph her presence. While easily avoidable, this provided a valuable opportunity to observe Hannah's interaction with him. It would mitigate any complications arising from her absence and test Hannah's loyalty. Heather wanted to see if Hannah had genuinely given up on Ralph or was merely feigning disinterest.
"Yes, Ms. Riggs!" Chump readily obeyed, despite his lack of understanding.
Hannah soon arrived, recognizing Heather's crossed-legged posture as a breathing exercise. "Heather?"
Hannah recalled it was Saturday, Heather's usual departure day. She'd seen Chump preparing a car from her bedroom window before he'd collected her.
"Do you want to go to Russell Estate?" Heather asked.
"If you want me to go, I will. If you think I shouldn't, I won't!" Hannah replied perfectly, prioritizing Heather's wishes.
Heather smiled. "Fine. I know you want to go, so I'll give you the opportunity."
"I didn'tโฆ" Hannah began.
"I don't need your excuses," Heather interrupted, closing her eyes. "Go to keep an eye on the Russell family. Report back in detail. And one more thingโฆ you know what to do about that man. Remember, we leave in two days. Since you liked him, you should end things yourself."
