Chapter 112

"You guys are enemies!" Jenny chuckled, settling into her seat. "Shall I prepare some popcorn?"

Lily smiled lightly, pulling a blanket around herself. "There's nothing to be excited about. If she doesn't cause trouble, I won't. We'll be at peace." She reclined comfortably. Prioritizing work over personal matters, she would never jeopardize the company's reputation on a business trip.

Jenny turned to Lily with a smile. "How interesting! Still, can you guarantee she won't start a fire?"

If Melanie were less prone to trouble, there wouldn't have been so many arguments.

"Hey, the stranger beside her looks familiar," Jenny murmured, taking a second look. She knew Nathaniel, but this man wasn't him. Weren't they inseparable, always together?

Lily also noticed Nathaniel's absence. It was only Melanie and the stranger. However, Lily didn't care, as long as they didn't bother her.

"Jenny, the sampling's tonight. Aren't you taking a nap?" Lily glanced at her, closed her eyes.

What a splendid way to ignore the situation! Jenny smiled, closing her eyes. Company benefits were rare; she'd enjoy them. Unlike the calm women, Melanie couldn't sit still.

She kept glancing back, her resentment growing at their apparent slumber. First class was a rare treat, and she hadn't expected it to be so crowded. Why was Lily everywhere? Why was she being haunted?

Melanie wondered how Lily could sleep so peacefully. Nathaniel couldn't come because of their busy work with essential oilsโ€”all thanks to Lily, yet she slept soundly.

This fueled her resentment. However, the public nature of the situation forced her to contain her fury. Suddenly, she felt a hand on hers. She looked up to see Frank, his eyes closed, his hand on hers. His lips moved: "If you want revenge, there are hundreds of ways."

Melanie remained silent.

He opened his eyes, smiled slightly. "I can help you."

The two-hour flight was agonizing for Melanie. Her initial excitement had been replaced by rage; Frank held her hand the entire time.

She sensed her trip to Middle Valley wouldn't be pleasant. Nathaniel was right: Frank had something planned. However, she couldn't offend Frank, so caution was key.

Lily, it seemed, was participating in the sampling. It was unexpected that she wasn't miserable after leaving MN Inc., but had even upgraded to first class! Melanie would never let Lily live peacefully.
