Chapter 1092
Startled by the question, Celine replied, "Mom, I don't know either. It's up to you."
Had she known, she wouldn't have been so flustered yesterday. Margaret fainted, but luckily recovered before they could call an ambulance. Upon waking, she immediately held Celine's hand, preventing her from summoning one. Margaret didn't want to make a fuss; she knew hospitalization would alert everyone. She decided to wait until she knew what to do before telling anyone.
"Ugh!"
Ralph wasn't in a hurry to go home, stopping at the hospital on his way. The pain in his elbow was excruciating, even with minimal movement, causing cold sweat to bead on his forehead. Initially, he thought it was a simple dislocation, a quickly self-correcting joint issue. That, however, proved untrue.
He went for a checkup and underwent an X-ray. The doctor calmly explained, "You have a fracture."
"A fracture? Is it that serious? I just fell!" He was incredulous, his mouth agape.
"It is a fracture. See here..." The doctor pointed to a spot on the X-ray. "You likely landed directly on this area. Falls can cause fractures. Yours doesn't appear too severe, but... you said you fell yesterday?"
"Yeah!"
"You waited far too long to come in," the doctor said, pushing his glasses up his nose. "Wear a cast and avoid moving it for the next few days. It'll heal in time."
"Can I still drive?" Ralph wondered how he'd manage with a cast.
The doctor gave him a speechless stare, the unspoken question hanging in the air.
"How unlucky am I!" Ralph thought, his resentment toward Heather growing. He blamed her for his injury.
He regretted not learning kickboxing. If he had, he could have subdued her, like Alexander. But that was irrelevant now. Once he controlled the family, he'd hire stronger kickboxers to deal with her!
After the doctor set his elbow, Ralph paid his bill. Exiting, he saw a familiar figure disappearing down the corridor.
"It can't be! Such a coincidence?"
Ralph's heart pounded. Even the person's back felt unsettling. He hurried after them to confirm his suspicion.
He rounded the corner, watching them enter a room. Curiosity piqued, he approached, but the door was closed. Looking up, he saw the sign: "Neurology Department."
"Neurology? Isn't that forโฆ psychopaths?"
Ralph's eyes widened. Before he could process this, the door opened, and someone emerged. He couldn't avoid a head-on encounter.
