Heather's expression shifted. A skilled kickboxer, she usually controlled her strength, but her rage had inadvertently cracked Hannah's bones—a troubling consequence. Chump, observing from the sidelines, quietly said, "Miss?"

He remained calmly. His attention was solely on Heather; others, even those resembling her, were inconsequential.

Speechless, Heather stared at the young woman on the floor, irritation growing as she noted the resemblance. "Carry her..." she began, but a glint caught her eye. A diamond ring sparkled on Hannah's finger—not large, but dazzling nonetheless.

Her anger reignited. She bent to remove it, but Hannah's slender, curved finger proved unexpectedly resistant. Twice she tugged before the ring yielded.

Her fury intensified. "This wretched girl has passed out, yet she’s holding onto her finger like that! As if she’s fighting me!"

Heather changed tactics. "Wake her up with cold water! I still have questions for her. Does she think she can get away with this by passing out?"

"Right away!" Chump quickly returned with a bucket of ice water, which he poured impassively over Hannah. The frigid water jolted Hannah awake.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, curling into a ball against the cold. Still disoriented, she didn't immediately grasp what had transpired.

As Hannah looked around, her lips moved. The memory of the events flooded back, followed by the sharp pain in her shoulder. Then she saw Heather, and what Heather held. "H-Heather... my ring!" she cried, touching her ring finger and finding it bare. It had been a wedding gift, placed on her finger by Ralph himself. The loss distressed her; she hadn't owned the ring long and blamed herself for its loss.

Heather took my earrings, and now the ring. I don’t own many things. Must she take everything from me?

"Your ring?" Heather sneered, raising an eyebrow. "How come I had no idea you bought yourself a ring? Since when do you have money?"

Hannah hesitated, looking at her sister. "Heather, please give it back to me!"
