Wanting to spend quality time with his wife, Alexander hadn't expected to encounter two familiar faces upon their arrival at the hotel. Their reservation ensured prompt service, and they ate quietly, though not ravenously. After a moment, Lily hesitantly asked, "Don't you feel something's off about Ms. Riggs?"

"You felt it too?" Alexander looked up, unsurprised. "It's not odd that we share this impression; you're very observant. What's strange is that Ms. Riggs seemedโ€ฆdifferent."

"So I wasn't mistaken." Lily nodded, relieved. Having never met Heather before, she'd initially dismissed her impressions. But Alexander's agreement solidified her unease.

"She lacked that intimidating aura," Lily mused. "It's not about the sneak attack; kickboxers have a certainโ€ฆpresence. It's hard to describe, but she seemed to have lost it."

"I felt it too," Alexander confirmed. "No matter how hard a kickboxer tries to conceal it, that aura always shows through. But she wasn't even trying to hide it; it was simplyโ€ฆabsent."

"She looked afraid when you approached," Alexander added. "That's unlike her."

"The Heather everyone knows is fearlessly arrogant," Lily agreed. "Even trying to appear cold, her fear was evident."

Alexander wondered if her fear stemmed from his past encounter, but it didn't seem so.

"Could Ms. Riggs have a twin?" Lily suggested. "Someone who looks exactly like her?"

Alexander considered this, but shook his head. "Unlikely. The Riggs family, despite their seclusion, maintains contact with the outside world. No one's mentioned a sister. As an only child, she received everything, went everywhere with her parents. After a near-kidnapping in her youth, they were even more protective, keeping her on the island until she mastered kickboxing."

The Russells were well-informed. "If she had a twin, we'd know. No one's ever mentioned it," Alexander stated firmly. "But there is another explanationโ€ฆa medical condition." He paused, looking at Lily.

Lily understood immediately. "Dissociative identity disorder?"

He nodded. "There are many such cases. A kind person with the disorder might become violent, while a vulnerable person might develop a powerful, protective persona. Don't you think Heather might fall into the latter category?"

Lily sipped her orange juice thoughtfully, but remained unconvinced. "How would I know? I barely know her." Leaning forward, she smiled. "You've interacted with Ms. Riggs more than I have. Which type do you think she is?" She winked playfully.
