Chapter 1028

He glanced at the door; it wasn't far. He could run if necessary. Spilling the coffee would buy him time. He considered this, lowered the cup, and stopped drinking. He simply sat, cup in hand.

Hannah's mood soured as she saw him retreat. "Do you hate me that much?" she snapped sarcastically.

"Huh? Uh..." Ralph was startled. He shook his head quickly. "No! How could I hate you? I love you. Why would you ask that? I'm just worried about your well-being, so I stopped by to see if you were in pain or discomfort. You... y-y-you..."

He stuttered, watching her approach. Was she going to attack him again? Panic seized him. He had no idea what he'd done wrong. "I-I suddenly remembered something!"

He feigned clumsiness, spilling the coffee. He was ready to flee.

"Ah!" Hannah was surprised, the coffee splashing her. Her reflexes weren't as sharp as her sister Heather's. Hannah had some self-defense training, but she lagged far behind Heather. Consequently, she always had bodyguards when she went out at night. Heather's reputation attracted unscheduled challenges. Latterly, these incidents had decreased.

Hannah tried to avoid the spill, but her clothes were still splashed. The moment he heard her cry out, Ralph stopped, turning to find her vulnerable.

'I'm dead! I'm dead!' Sweat beaded on his forehead as he saw her stained clothing. He hadn't escaped and had ruined her clothes. She must be furious! Would she break his hands and feet this time? The thought intensified his anxiety.

He stared, wide-eyed. His gaze kept drifting to her lips. In this critical moment, instinct took over. He recalled that her only moments of gentleness followed their kissesโ€ฆ

Before he could think further, he leaned forward and kissed her. Hannah's mind went blank. Initially, she'd wanted to approach him, but he'd run away, splashing her with coffee. Though unharmed, the soiled clothes had enraged her. As she opened her mouth to speak, he seized the moment and kissed her. Their movements were synchronized, skillful.

Her lips were soft, even softer than before. It felt like their first kiss. Ralph couldn't explain why each kiss felt different. Their first kiss had been gentle, pleasant, obedient, and docile. He'd enjoyed it. Subsequent kisses, particularly at home, had been fiery, dominant, and harshโ€”thrilling. Her kisses were hot and cold. He couldn't say which he preferred, but after this, he seemed to relish these gentle moments. Most importantly, her body had softened against him. She was his well-behaved, docile little sheep again.
