Chapter 1015

"Answer my question!" Heather snapped impatiently, refusing to beat around the bush any longer.

Seeing her anger, Alexander quickly replied, "I'm just concerned about you! He was sent somewhere to learn self-defense when he was youngerโ€”around seven or eight, I think. My father sent him. I don't remember the exact location. But don't worry; it wasn't authentic training. I doubt it was even considered kickboxing. He's no match for you."

"Did he use hidden weapons or tricks? Otherwise, there's no way he could've beaten you!" Ralph exclaimed, finding Alexander's victory improbable. After all, Heather was a renowned kickboxer from a long line of them. If Alexander could easily injure her, subduing her himself wouldn't be impossible.

Ralph's thoughts turned skeptical. Was Heather's legendary skill truly unmatched, or was it an exaggeration? She was just a woman, after all. Even exceptional skill couldn't negate the limitations of physical strength. How powerful could she really be? He eyed her, considering whether he could overpower her. He'd been intimidated by her before, but now that fear was gone... what was left to fear?

Although Heather was oblivious to his thoughts, her instincts sensed his malevolence. "Since you don't want to tell me, forget it! I don't care. Leave!" she declared, rising to her feet.

"Hey, that's notโ€”" Ralph grabbed her wrist and waist, attempting to pull her onto his lap, intending to kiss her and gauge their relative strength. But the instant his fingers touched her waist, she reacted, twisting and bending his arms into awkward, painful positions.

"Ah! It hurts! It hurts!" Tears welled in Ralph's eyes. He'd been kicked like a donkey and was acutely aware of the strength disparity. She could still overpower him, even injured! The thought of her at full strength sent chills down his spine. He hadn't realized how close he'd come to a far worse outcome.

"Heather, what are you doing?! I didn't hurt you! I'm telling the truth! My fingers are going to break! Let go! Let go!" he stammered, his face contorted with pain.

She held him firmly, leaning close. "Ralph Russell, I know what you're thinking. Keep those thoughts to yourself, or I promise your hands won't be attached to your body!" With that harsh warning, she released him. He rubbed his arms, tears streaming down his face. The pain, coupled with resentment, extinguished any remaining interest he had in her. The thought of a future with such a formidable woman, lived in constant fear, was utterly repulsive.
