Chapter 131

Amelia didnโ€™t go over because she knew what would happen with Landonโ€™s hands on her waist.

โ€œThanks, but no.โ€ Amelia hurried to the bathroom to get changed.

Landon withdrew his hands indignantly after his little trick failed.

When could he make some substantial progress in this relationship?

During the lunch break, Amelia went to a beauty salon to alleviate the pain in her back.

There, she ran into Elaine again. โ€œSpeak of the devil!โ€ she thought.

Elaine shot Amelia a hostile glare. โ€œWhat are you doing here?โ€

โ€œNone of your business,โ€ Amelia replied coldly.

โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t be here!โ€ Elaine sneered, her nose in the air.

โ€œMs. Atkinson, does your family own this place?โ€

โ€œNo. The Atkinson family would never stoop to such petty business.โ€

โ€œWhy are you here then?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m here to spend money!โ€ Elaine lifted her chin proudly.

Amelia pulled out her bank card. โ€œWhat a coincidence! Iโ€™m here to spend money too.โ€ Without hesitation, she signed up for the best service with 300 thousand dollars.

Elaine planted her hands on her hips and snapped, โ€œDonโ€™t you dare waste Landonโ€™s money!โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong with you? Gloria says nothing when I spend Landonโ€™s money,โ€ Amelia shot back.

The beautician quickly signaled to her colleague to defuse the tension in fear of the loss of their VIP clients. โ€œMs. Atkinson, this way, please.โ€

โ€œMrs. Kingsley, please come with me.โ€

The two beauticians led Amelia and Elaine away respectively. Elaine felt obliged to do something because it was rare for Amelia to be alone. Soon, a plan was formed.

Elaine thought viciously, โ€œDidnโ€™t Amelia win Landonโ€™s heart with her outstanding appearance? I will disfigure her today, so she canโ€™t bewitch Landon anymore.โ€

After the massage, Amelia felt much better. The mud mask arrived, and the beautician intended to help Amelia remove the makeup.

Amelia checked the time and politely declined, โ€œNo, as it is running out of time.โ€

โ€œOkay, Mrs. Kingsley.โ€ The beautician took the mud to another VIP customer because she felt it a pity to dump the mask.

After a shower, Amelia was ready to head back to her office.

Right then, a horrifying scream came from another room. A beautician dashed out in a panic and shouted, โ€œHelp! Ms. Atkinsonโ€™s face is ruined!โ€

Amelia frowned as she thought, โ€œHow come? All the ingredients chosen by this salon are great!โ€

โ€œCall an ambulance! My faceโ€ฆโ€ In a bathrobe, Elaine appeared with her face covered by her hands.

The yellow facial mask had been torn a bit, so the terrifying blisters came into view.

Amelia instinctively touched her own face, thinking, โ€œWhy did that happen?โ€

The salon was cautious with its choices of products because all its clients were either rich or powerful. What had happened to Elaineโ€™s face?

โ€œWhat are you waiting for? Send me to the hospital!โ€ Elaine screamed, and her shouts alarmed the other customers.

Within moments, the salon was in chaos. Amelia was pushed into a corner.

Elaine was rushed to the hospital, and her beautician, Jenny Hacker, slumped onto the floor with a pale face.

โ€œNot my fault. The mud mask is the problem. Ms. Atkinson complained of the pain soon after I put the mask on her face. Her face got blisters when I took the mask offโ€ฆโ€ Jenny explained.

โ€œNonsense! Our facial mask is of good quality,โ€ the manager of the salon insisted firmly.

โ€œOn my life. There is some left in the bowl. Have it tested!โ€ Jenny pleaded desperately.

Scared, the other customers began to question the quality of the mask.

โ€œLadies, calm down. I assure you that our product is perfectly safe.โ€ Speaking, the manager let Jenny bring the rest of the mud mask over.

Later, she said, โ€œNo, its color is not right. Who made it?โ€

โ€œLelia Abner brought it to me,โ€ Jenny responded.

Lelia was the beautician who had served Amelia. With a long face, she argued, โ€œI got the mud from the product team. I am innocent. Mrs. Kingsley didnโ€™t need to clear up her face, so I, out of pity, sent the mud to the room next doorโ€ฆโ€

Ameliaโ€™s expression changed drastically. It turned out Amelia was the target of the problematic mud.

โ€œManager, a thorough investigation is necessary,โ€ Amelia demanded sternly.

Elaine got disfigured, and Amelia was involved in this matter. The manager of the salon broke out into a cold sweat. โ€œRelax, Mrs. Kingsley. I will call the police to get to the truth.โ€

Soon, the police arrived. Statements were taken, evidence was collected, and the salon was temporarily shut down.

Amelia was interrogated because the problematic mud had been sent to her room first.

Lingering fear haunted her. She would have been disfigured if she hadnโ€™t had other schedules. What a narrow escape!

โ€œHoney!โ€ Landon maneuvered his wheelchair through the throng with unmistakable anxiety on his face.

โ€œWhy are you here?โ€ Amelia asked in surprise. Given the relationship between the Atkinson family and the Kingsley family, she couldnโ€™t help but suspect that Landon had come for Elaine.

Landon looked Amelia up and down while holding her hands. โ€œIs everything alright?โ€

Amelia shook her head. โ€œElaineโ€™s face got ruined.โ€

โ€œThank goodness you are fine. Letโ€™s get out of here,โ€ Landon said.

โ€œDid you come all the way just for me?โ€

โ€œOr?โ€ Landon asked, โ€œI read the news and came to pick you up. Itโ€™s dangerous outside, so letโ€™s hire a beautician to serve you at home.โ€

โ€œAlrightโ€ฆโ€ Amelia was moved. โ€œWonโ€™t you go check on Elaine since she is disfigured?โ€

โ€œWhy should I?โ€ Landon asked with conspicuous displeasure.

Guilty, Amelia murmured, โ€œThe Atkinson family and the Kingsley family have been friends for generations. Her family isnโ€™t here, so I think the Kingsley family will shelter herโ€ฆโ€

โ€œShe has nothing to do with me.โ€ Landon snorted as he thought, โ€œAmelia wants me to be concerned about Elaine! How ridiculous! I will teach her a good lesson.โ€

Hearing Landon, Amelia blushed. โ€œI have faith in you. I just worry about the business between the two familiesโ€ฆโ€

โ€œIs the business more important than your husband?โ€ Landon pulled a long face. โ€œHow would you like it if I told you to worry about another man?โ€

Amelia chuckled. โ€œThat wonโ€™t happen.โ€ In Norava, she knew only one man, and that was Landon.

โ€œWhatever. Donโ€™t push me to other women.โ€

โ€œAlright, alright.โ€ Speaking, Amelia pushed Landon out of the salon. Who had prepared the problematic mud for Amelia? Would Elaine be disfigured forever?
