“Mrs. Kingsley, how could you take medicine casually?” Lindsey Nevin, the best gynecologist in Norava, was a kind old lady. She looked at Amelia in shock.

“I didn’t take any medicine,” Amelia said in surprise. “I haven’t even taken medicine for a cold in the past month.”

“How could this happen?” Lindsey frowned. “Let me check again.”

Amelia looked at Lindsey nervously.

Wesley was Lindsey’s student, and he was sure that Lindsey would not make a mistake in diagnosis. Wesley asked, “Think again, Amelia. Have you taken any medicine or eaten anything special recently?”

“No. I go back and forth between the company and home every day and only eat in the company cafeteria or at home.” Amelia became nervous because of Wesley’s reaction.

She thought, ‘Is there something wrong with the food in the canteen? But Landon had dinner with me every day, and he’s fine!’

“Mrs. Kingsley, I suggest you check your recent diet,” Lindsey said solemnly. She turned to look at Wesley and said, “Mrs. Kingsley has taken a poison that only harms women. It has a severe influence on women’s health.”

“Oh my,” Wesley cried out in shock.

Amelia’s heart was pounding. She was uneasy and confused. “Can it be cured, Dr. Nevin?”

“I’m not sure.” Lindsey looked at Amelia with pity and thought, ‘Poor girl. She is so young, but her fertility has been badly affected.”

In a panic, Amelia asked in a trembling voice, “Dr. Nevin, how long can I still live? Please tell me the truth.” After a pause, she added, “Don’t worry, I can bear it.”

Amelia thought, ‘I’ve been dead once. I’m lucky enough to live in this life. But I’m unwilling to die like this. I vowed to live well, but in the end, I was drugged.‘

“Mrs. Kingsley, it’s not that serious,” Lindsey relaxed her frown and smiled to comfort Amelia. “The medicine won’t harm your life, but it will make you feel terrible during your period.”

“That’s all?” Amelia was surprised and delighted.

Wesley glanced at it. They were just some ordinary medicine for enriching blood and regulating menstruation. He said to Amelia, “Amelia, I’m afraid I can’t accompany you. I still have something to discuss with my teacher.”

“Okay, I have to go.” The menstrual flow was heavy, and Amelia would break out in a sweat when she moved. After getting the medicine, she thought she was fine and asked Brooke to drive her back home to rest.

“Amelia is going home to rest. Landon, I have something important to tell you.” Wesley looked solemn.

With worry creeping in, Landon said, “Go ahead.”

Wesley said, “Someone drugged Amelia. The medicine hurt her body. In the future, she will have heavy menstrual flows during her period, and it will be difficult for her to get pregnant.”

Landon was dumbfounded, and his angular face turned cold in an instant. “Who did it?”

Wesley shook his head. “I don’t know. I didn’t tell Amelia the truth to avoid her being too stressed. She thinks she can recover after taking medicine for a few months.”
