Chapter 539

Even though Richard had many secrets, Tiffany did as well. Richard raised his eyebrows and said with a faint smile, โ€œI remember being criticized as a sucker for boosting your performance at the Treasure Tower's Treasure Appraisal Assembly.โ€

Tiffany was stunned. โ€œYouโ€ฆ you knew the appraiser was me?โ€ She thought, When did I lose my alias? Why didn't I feel anything? No wonder Richard didn't find it odd and even supported me. He spent tens of millions of dollars buying the collections I pushed. He was just boosting my performance?

Thinking of tens of millions of dollars, Tiffany's sleepiness vanished. She hugged Richard, lamenting, โ€œYou should have told me! You could have just given me the money then. What a waste!โ€

Her company, managed by Caleb, was short of funds. If sheโ€™d known, she wouldn't have taken such a roundabout way to earn money. She could have just flattered Richard!

Tiffany sighed. โ€œIf I'd known, I would have used my beauty to seduce you then.โ€ Perhaps all his assets would be hers now.

Richardโ€™s eyes darkened. โ€œHoney, itโ€™s not too late.โ€

โ€œGet lost!โ€

โ€œOh.โ€

Their conversation was overheard by other subordinates. Seeing Richard rejected, they trembled, thinking, Only Tiffany can tell Richard to get lost?

Despite the rejection, Richard remained docile, unlike the man who could shake Lovell City with a stomp. The subordinates exchanged glances, deciding to cling to Tiffany.

The helicopter returned to Lovell City. Tiffany didn't go to her villa, but to Luna Villa first. She found Jeremy, disguised, sitting on the sofa.

Surprised, she asked, โ€œWhy are you here?โ€ Jeremy had followed her to Traron City and back, but had been elusive for days.

He sat up. โ€œMiss Kelley, itโ€™s time for you to return. At leastโ€ฆ see His Majesty one last time.โ€

Tiffany's smile faded. Felix's comment about Morwen's success in the cave, coupled with Jeremy's words, hinted at trouble for her grandfather.

โ€œWhat happened?โ€ she asked.

โ€œHis Majesty is critically ill. He might not survive the winterโ€ฆโ€

Couldn't make it through the winter? Tiffany thought, stunned. She remembered her grandfather's kind smile, his doting nature. Thirteen years have passed; Grandpa, strong then, is weaker now, with that vicious Morwen by his side, she thought.

Tiffany declared, โ€œWe leave tomorrow morning!โ€ Some things couldn't wait, like Victor's death before she could call him Grandpa. She didn't want more regrets.

Jeremy rejoiced. โ€œReally? Thatโ€™s great!โ€

โ€œYes. Go prepare,โ€ Tiffany said, notifying June, who arranged a helicopter. Tiffany gave further instructions before leaving Luna Villa.

On the way back, she searched for an excuse to smooth things over, but the car stopped before she found one.

โ€œMiss Kelley, weโ€™re here,โ€ June said.

โ€œOkay.โ€

Tiffany entered her villa and sensed something amiss. Melody sat on the sofa, head down.

โ€œI donโ€™t have any living expenses. Mom, can you transfer me four million dollars?โ€ Melody said.

Four million? Living expenses? Are we that rich? Tiffany thought. She was furious.

Melody had lived in a villa, receiving gifts and money. Her appetite had been indulged, leading to this demand. Thalia was stunned. โ€œWhat are you buying? We donโ€™t have that much money. You got 200,000 last month.โ€

Melody pouted. Sheโ€™d spent 200,000 on a necklace. โ€œHow is 200,000 enough?โ€

She resented Tiffany's spending habits. Melody snorted. โ€œDidnโ€™t you say to be fair? I want what Tiffany has.โ€

Thalia was angry but explained, โ€œTiffany hasnโ€™t asked for a cent in six months. She bought back all the company shares, solving the Kelley familyโ€™s crisis.โ€

Melody didnโ€™t believe it. โ€œYou owe me this! Why are you sending me away? Give me four million dollars today!โ€

Thalia was stunned. Melody had become a bottomless pit, filled with hatred and revenge.

Thalia retorted, โ€œDo you think I owe you?โ€

Chapter 540

โ€œDonโ€™t you?โ€ Melody retorted. They had fallen out. Pretending to be obedient wouldn't win over the cold couple.

โ€œThis is what you owe me. If it werenโ€™t for you, why would I be stranded and let Tiffany occupy my place? Isnโ€™t this your fault?โ€

โ€œHow could you even think like that?โ€ Thalia asked, but the passage ends there.
