About an hour later, Carissa's messenger returned. "Ms. Spencer isn't at Hell Monarch Estate. I asked the estate staff; they said she went to Skye Embroidery. I checked there, but she wasn't there either. They did say supplies arrived from Edgeview Estate today, but Ms. Spencer didn't inspect them. They're piled outside; they won't move them until they're checked."

Carissa's heart leaped. Supplies from Edgeview Estate sent to Skye Embroidery? What about Claire and the others? Had they gone with Violet?

She sprang up, calling for Mabel. Mabel didn't appear. That was unusual; Mabel had been with her all day. Where had she gone? Something felt terribly wrong.

Max appeared, running after her. "Commander Sinclair, what's wrong? Are you looking for Mabel? I saw her leaving in a hurry."

"Where?" Carissa demanded.

"Outside Capital Guard headquarters, as I entered through the city gate."

"Wasn't that when Prince Yuvan left the city?" Carissa's heart sank. She rushed to the stables, calling to Max, "Cancel tonight's training. Everyone comes with me to find Violet. Call Deputy Commander Brown and his team to follow!"

She wasn't sure what had happened to Violet, but her unease intensified.

Max followed. "Commander Sinclair, even if Sage Violet isn't at the estate or workshop, she might be elsewhere. Don't worry too much."

"That's why we're finding her!"

Carissa mounted Lightning and galloped away, heading first to Glimmering Tower, hoping to find Claire at the Skywing Spire branch there. The shopkeeper said they hadn't seen Claire or any of the other scouts.

Max and his men caught up. Carissa said urgently, "Go to the workshop and ask if Violet was there today. Send someone to Hell Monarch Estate to see if anyone knows where she went, other than Edgeview Estate."

"Yes, Commander Sinclair!"

Max, rarely seeing Carissa so anxious, quickly rode off. He confirmed Violet hadn't been at the workshop. Several carts of rice and cloth, delivered from Edgeview Estate, sat outside. Alana confirmed the delivery but hadn't seen Violet.

Carissa rode out of the city. At a rest post, she encountered Mabel riding towards her. She stopped Mabel. "Mabel, have you seen Violet?"

Mabel's face was pale. "I'm not sure, Your Grace. I was returning to find you, but Lillian sent me out of the city to follow Prince Yuvan's carriage. Claire was with Ms. Spencer, but she disappeared in an alley."

Carissa, ignoring her sweat-drenched face, asked, "Why an alley? Wasn't she delivering goods to the workshop?"

"Yes. Claire said Ms. Spencer watched the staff unload goods at Edgeview Estate. She was to escort them, but vanished while following the cart with silk thread."

"Vanished? She was riding a horse?" A chill ran through Carissa. Yuvan's knowing gaze flashed in her mind, fueling her fear.

"Did Ms. Spencer drink or eat at Edgeview Estate? What about Claire?"

Mabel replied, "Claire said Ms. Spencer only stood at the gate and didn't eat or drink. She didn't enter the estate, and only lightly checked the goods; she planned to inspect them at the workshop. Claire's been following Prince Yuvan's carriage, and the Glimmering Tower scouts are searching for her. She suspects Ms. Spencer was taken, but it's only a suspicion; there's no proof."
