Chapter 180

Sonia's actions as Hall Corporation's receptionist were nothing less than a disgrace to the company. Walter's fists clenched instantly—Austin had actually kept this surveillance footage. Austin's sharp and unwavering gaze landed on Walter as he said, in a deep, measured tone, "Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Before Walter could respond, Herre cut in, his voice laced with fury. "What else is there to say? After what he's done, the board can't possibly keep him." Compromising the company's interests and turning a blind eye while his children tarnished its reputation—how could a man like that still have a place on the board? Someone spoke up just then. "I agree."

Walter's interference in company affairs alone was already unforgivable, let alone everything else. "I second that." One by one, voices of agreement echoed through the conference room.

Walter's face turned ashen. He had nothing left to argue, as every piece of evidence had been laid bare. Randall's expression was dark and unreadable. He had come expecting to force Austin out of the CEO position, only to watch as Austin turned the entire meeting into his own show. And Walter—the tool—had brought nothing but this flimsy excuse of a defense.

Austin rose abruptly, his voice cold as he announced, "Then we'll proceed according to everyone's decision. Meeting adjourned." Gathering his documents, he strode toward the exit. At the door, Randall stood behind him, his tone heavy with warning. "Austin, don't take things too far."

Austin paused mid-step and turned back with a faint smirk on his face, but the chilling air around him only deepened. "Uncle Randall, I'll give you the same advice." His imposing presence sent a shiver down the room. Randall's breath grew heavier, but Austin was already dialing Suzanne's number as he walked out.

"Are you free tonight?" he asked. His icy exterior softened just a little as he continued. "Let's have dinner with my friends." "No problem," was Suzanne's response. The corners of his lips curled slightly. "Alright, I'll pick you up later." After exchanging a few words, he hung up.

At Zenith Restaurant that evening, the private dining room was elegantly decorated. It was understated yet exuded refined luxury. Only the wealthy and influential dined here. Austin's Trends were already seated inside, waiting for him. "Dense in casual," Charles said, "make it count." Charles rolled up his sleeves like he was ready for a fight. Flashing a mischievous grin, he remarked, "It's rare for Austin to treat us to dinner. We'd better make the most of it."

Austin was impossible to get a hold of on a normal day, yet now, he was voluntarily buying dinner. Charles' eyes sparkled with excitement, and he was eager for whatever the night held. Leaning lazily against his chair, Herman's fox-like eyes gleamed with amusement. He chuckled. "You think he's afraid of you running up the bill?"

Even if Charles were to order the entire menu, Austin wouldn't bat an eye. Laughter rippled through the room. Only Charles could stir up the energy like this. He waved a dismissive hand, unfazed. "I'm just setting the mood. I still don't know why he's hosting tonight." The others shrugged, mutually clueless. Just then, the door swung open.
