Chapter 110

After setting down the coffee, the secretary turned and walked away. Delme Fleming couldn't help but glance at Suzanne again. Then, she smiled and patted the deer behind her.

Suzanne was in a great mood. She picked up her coffee, took a sip, and then raised her eyebrows at Austin. Chuckling, she said, "I helped speed things up today, and now, you..."

Walter held a considerable amount of shares, making him a potential threat. While maintaining a neutral stance on the surface, he had secretly aligned himself with Postin's second uncle and had been working against Austin in various ways.

More importantly, Walter was driven solely by personal gain, with no regard for the company. Any project that fell into his hands saw its profits funneled into his own pocket, leaving the company with nothing. Austin had been waiting for the right opportunity to remove him; Andrew, and Suzanne, had conveniently created that chance.

He studied Suzanne’s composed confidence, as though she could conquer anything. He felt somewhat surprised; this woman seemed to know everything. Suzanne was sharper than he had imagined.

There was amusement in his eyes as he softly asked, “What sort of reward do you want, then?”

Suzanne set down her cup of coffee and tilted her head slightly, as though in deep thought. Austin expected her to make her request, but she looked at him with a mysterious smile instead. She said thoughtfully, “I’ll save it for later. When I think of something, I’ll let you know.” Her playful and clever side made Austin’s gaze soften. His eyes lit up with amusement as he said, “Then you’d better not forget.”

It was rare for Austin to be in such a good mood, let alone talk so much. He had always been one to speak only when necessary. Suzanne’s lips curled into a smile, and she said, “How could I possibly forget a reward from the great Mr. Hall? This was a rare opportunity to take it.” Austin, after all…

She took another sip of her coffee and then murmured, “Your company’s coffee is pretty good.”

Austin raised an eyebrow and said, in a deep, magnetic voice, “You can come by often if you like it.”

Suzanne simply chuckled without responding. After finishing her coffee, she placed the cup down and stood up. Looking at Austin, she said, “You should focus on your work. I’ll be heading…”

Her gaze remained fixed on him while she gathered her lunchbox and cutlery from the table. He said, “I really like your cooking.”

Her hands paused for a moment. While still bent over, she turned to look at Austin and arched a brow at him. “As long as you like it?”

After parking, she went to the restroom to wash her hands before picking up her lunchbox again. “I’m off,” she said. Austin gave a small nod. He watched her leave before heading toward the secretarial office.

At the secretarial office, the secretaries paused their tasks when they saw Austin approaching; it was extremely rare for him to come here in person. Before the closest secretary could speak, Austin instructed sternly, “Inform everyone. From now on, there is no need for prior notice whenever she’s here. She can come and go to my office as she pleases.”

For a moment, everyone was stunned. A simple phone call from Austin would have sufficed. Yet he had deliberately come in person to make sure everyone heard him. That alone showed how important that woman was to him! Austin hadn’t mentioned Suzanne by name, but everyone in the secretarial office immediately knew who he meant. After all, some degree of commotion had spread through the office already.

It was a huge privilege to be allowed unrestricted access to Austin’s office. She had been granted an authority equal to a deputy CEO.

After Austin left, everyone exchanged glances. Just who on earth was that woman from earlier? Could Suzanne be Austin’s future wife? This thought sparked newfound respect for Suzanne among many, though it also stirred strong hostility in some.
